It’s been three days since my Instagram page, The WatchDog TV, became unavailable in India. And I still have one question: WHY?

We were just trying to show what’s happening on the streets of Delhi and raise the voices of ordinary people.

Even during British rule, laws like the Vernacular Press Act were used to control the press. Journalists were stopped from speaking the truth because the British feared people would wake up and question them.

But today, in an independent India, are independent journalists still facing pressure for asking questions?

Doesn’t Article 19(1)(a) of our Constitution give us the right to freedom of speech and expression?

I still don’t know why my page became unavailable, and I want a clear answer.

Sahab, I had just started my journey in journalism, and you’ve already started silencing my voice?
