❤️‍🔥 we need each other, here for each other by @theway.backhome

It’s the time of the month for another invitation for another online Somatic Practice (free and by donation) this Saturday. I’m feeling called to call this Community Somatic Practice series: Honoring Life ❤️‍🔥 And here’s a snippet from me, once again trying my own goods before I share it.

This one is an extra meaningful one for me. This week marks a return to movement, dance, freedom in my body’s full capacity (that I am grateful for beyond words) after about a month of rather limited movements for an egg freezing process.

The theme this time reflects exactly this, where I am at and what I am needing. I hope it supports you too. This time we’ll be emphasizing grounding — into the changing season and with it the crisp air around us and the fallen leaf carpets, grounding into ourSelves, into our bodies, and into Earth. The soundscape will be different, the vibes will be different, the physicality will be different. A lot of loosening of the hips and tail, a lot of stomping, to meet the ground with intention, and to festively let Mother Earth know we are here, we are alive, in this body, and here to honor her and Life alongside. 🍂⛰️❤️‍🔥🪾

As always, this practice is for you to just come as you are and give yourself a chance to let yourSelf be known and met more fully, and to surprise yourself, perhaps, hopefully; to bring all of your joy, your pain, your grief, whatever you may be carrying, and to offer it to be held, to be alchemized, in this precious dance of Life.

OPEN TO ALL no matter experience 💛

With love and care,
Steph

Having a psychedelic experience can be so profound or impactful that you feel called to share, but you may be wondering what that would look like.

Psychedelic Integration coach Stephanie Sheng from @theway.backhome shares with us some helpful insights and practical advice on when, what, with whom, and how to share.

She’s also hosting an Integration Circle next Monday, October 5th, with the theme of embodying the experience and integration.

📅 Monday, October 5th from 19.00-21.00

📍 @osmosstudio

This event is run by donation; suggested 10-20€, but no one will be turned away.

DM @theway.backhome with any questions or to reserve your spot ✨ by @theway.backhome

As we start to transition into the slower autumn days 🍂 and out of the faster pace movement and adventures of the summer, let us gather to harvest the gems of where your journey has brought you.

All are welcome to this gathering, and no matter the the medicine, setting, modality, or intention you planted.

This time we will kick off the sharing circle with an activity focused on reconnecting, sensing into, and embodying the experience(s) you bring to integrate through creative expression (materials will be supplied).

We will meet 19:00 on Monday, October 5th @osmosstudio Berlin.

DM with any questions or concerns, or find more details and registration in the link in bio ❤️

Sharing this as an invitation and reminder for you to join this Saturday’s somatic practice (free and by donation). This is a snippet from my own experimentation - feeling and embodying the practice myself before I share with you.

It’s vulnerable to share this. I’ve never been one to enjoy publicly showing myself like this, let alone moving freely. I also refuse to try and make this look beautiful, sexy, or even very aesthetically good! Consider it my small F you to this platform and seemingly unavoidable participation in social media when trying to share offerings in this world.

But I feel it IS important to show you that you do not need to know, have special yoga, dance, or movement skills, to join or explore this. This isn’t a practice to DO any right way, this isn’t a practice to perfect your form, to push yourself, or to look good and beautiful. In fact, sometimes you can look like a slug on the floor (hah! how I felt) or a sensuous seaweed in the ocean (also how I felt!).

This practice is for you to just come and give yourself a chance to let yourSelf be known more fully (and maybe, hopefully!, surprise yourself) - to be felt intimately, to awaken every cell and inch of you, physically and beyond, to move, to meet yourSelf and what really flows from the beautiful depths of You when it doesn’t matter who’s watching or what it’s for or if you’re trying to do it as it’s supposed to be done.

Hope to see you on the dancefloor of life 💛

With love,
Steph

Got my pics developed of Italy in July, visiting a friend. We had planned to have a little 🍄 retreat in her new mountain home. Instead, we ended up in a very different kind of retreat, still in connection with and hearing from the earth, but in a very different way.

[River Sesia]

[River Sesia]

It was the first time being so close to fires that I could see them spreading day and night from the window, waking each morning to see how close they had moved, yet unable to open the windows for hours from the smoke. We would sit and just watch the planes dropping water — hopeful, mesmerized, frustrated, anxious, patient, helpless. And this was just a week-long glimpse (for me). And of fires that weren’t blazing everything in its path, like some of the others around the world. I cannot even imagine and my heart aches for all those beings, animals, and earth that have been/are being devastated by fires, at risk of fires, living through this type of experience as their daily reality.

*Not pictured but present: Torrente Mastallone and Lago d’Orta (lake from where the precious water was brought to put out the fires)

What it made me think of, unsurprisingly, is the preciousness of water. As you may know, I’m obsessed with water (as seen in my photos). Of course, all the elements are important and necessary, but it’s water that we call ‘of life’ in the temazcal as we bring her in; and suddenly, it became recognized this summer in a different way that, “with her everything, without her nothing.” Now that, I’ve come to know, is very true during vision quest when we are fasting from water for days. But this (along with the other disasters we’ve witnessed - Nepal 💔) has settled it in on a whole other level.

[Special mountain waterfalls, pools, and creeks (don’t know the name, but we gave it a special recognition so it’s definitely honored)]

I know there are many things we need to recognize and do (quickly) to address this, so I’m not naive in this being it, but I do think it’s important and maybe overlooked (I know it was for me). This year, after coming down from the mountain, in the hot hot temazcal, recovering from extreme thirst, the Abuela Nubia’s instructions rang by @theway.backhome

Back in the video game! And lots to talk about as always. I decided to not unnaturally squeeze myself into the IG or bite sized content world. SO, it's a long video, and I even had to stop it half way for here (IG). The full video and post with details is on substack (link in bio) that I'm dipping my toe into. Feedback welcome :)

Sharing after, and about, a (psychedelic) experience can make all the difference in the process of integration. A simple act—depending on how it’s done—can lead us to exactly the support and connection we need for our journey, or it can create exactly the challenges and blocks that get in the way of the unfolding and incorporation of what surfaced.

I share some learnings and considerations here in hopes that fewer people out there adventuring on this journey back home find themselves down the rabbit hole of isolation, loneliness, judgment, shame, and/or disconnection — which I’ve been through myself, and learned through my own difficult and beautiful experiences. I also share this out of a desire to honor the sacredness of what these experiences surface, and to support others in honoring that sacredness as well.

Sharing can be courageous. It can also be irresponsible. It can come from an open heart, or it can feed the ego. It can be vulnerable. It can deepen relationships. It can dilute the potency and sacredness of the experience. It can help mark and ground the experience into daily life by drawing in acknowledgment and witnessing from our support system and community. It can gather encouragement and care from loved ones for the parts of us we’re integrating, or the parts we’re stepping more fully into. It can inspire. It can connect us more deeply. It can help others feel less alone on their journey. It can grow the collective consciousness and the pool of wisdom we each contribute to.

The TLDR of it all:
Our experiences—even the difficult ones—can often feel like touching upon something sacred. So the question I usually hold in me around sharing is:

✨How do I share in a way that honors and respects the sacredness of this experience?✨

With ❤️,
Steph

Hello again beauties,

Continuing on with this open to all (not just flinta) Integration Circle @osmosstudio after a very cozy special gathering last time.

As usual this will be: a safer space and time to gather and share our stories, learnings, and questions about our explorations of healing and expanded states of consciousness, and to receive and offer support while we each walk this journey in our own way.

By gathering together in circle, you can support your individual integration journey, while helping weave a communal wisdom for the benefit of the collective.

Remember, it doesn’t matter if your experience was brought on by medicines, substances, or another modality (like meditation, breathwork, dreamwork...), if it was ceremonial or recreational, from yesterday or a decade ago, all is welcome.

Participation is by donation. Suggested 10-20. But no one will be turned away.

More details (incl. faq) and registration at link in bio. Or DM with questions or to RSVP

With much ❤️,
Steph

Even with some time to reflect and let things ferment, I still don’t quite know where to begin with encapsulating what an impactful experience this training has been.

This was special to me, as it felt like coming full circle or rather moving one layer deeper down the spiralic journey of life. Interestingly, just after the training, this image (2) of a psychedelics conference from 2014 came up in my suggested photo memories, from a talk that marked those early years for me of learning about and expanding my view of possibilities for healing supported by psychedelics.

Now, to be able to come back to this particular work with MDMA more intimately, personally, and with deeper understanding, has been such a gift that I am so so grateful for -- to @maps__org, to @holomind.instytut, and all the people who made this possible and continue to work so relentlessly to do so (I am in awe of your energy and determination), and to the forces of Life, for bringing me here.

There are too many details to share (at once) but what I bring with me from this incredible learning and healing experience is the beauty and hope in humanity, the wonder, even with its pain and suffering and horror, of what it is to be human, the capacity for healing that we have in us all no matter what, pointing to an intuition of this loving healing consciousness we are all made of, and how deeply healing it is to simply be human *together* in this world (with all other beings and nature and the great mystery of life) -- witnessing and supporting one another, with Love.

Two lines (of many tbh) stay with me: “prepare yourself to be heartbroken” in this work, but also combined with the guiding light that “this work is all about Love.” I walk away not dismissing or diminishing of the pain and suffering all around, but with hope and inspiration and courage and commitment to be here for it in all the ways I can be, recognizing also this privileged position I am in to be able to do so, and thus the responsibility.

Thank you to all the inspiring beings part of this <3

With so much love,
Steph

SOMATIC MORNING RITUAL

Join this mid-week check in with yourself to recalibrate for the rest of the day and week by coming (back) into connection with the wisdom of your body.

In this morning ritual, we'll invite your mind to take a break while you drop more fully into your body -- exploring its experience and aliveness. Our aim will not be the perfection of postures, but rather entering into an embodied and authentic flow of expression, asana, intuitive movement, and stillness.

There will also be a five minute optional journaling exercise at the end of the practice. In this way, we deepen into and strengthen the body-mind-heart connection to support whatever comes your way throughout the week.

This will be an enlivening practice that invites us into the vast expanse and aliveness of the present, through the portal of our body, sensations, and feelings, showing us how these are all doorways to the depth of our being and life itself.

Open to all levels and curious hearts.

EVERY WEDNESDAY 9:30AM
