NeKo nEkO NekO 🎣 Amongst all the seasons us anglers are blessed to be able to enjoy, I’d rank fall at the top of my list, for a handful of reasons fish behavior/weight, weather/water conditions, and the anticipation for a lunker. Although studies about bass feeding habits during fall are scarce, fall’s cool weather plays a key roll for these fish and their ecosystems by limiting the growth of vegetation, this inturn reduces the available cover growth for baitfish and bass alike. Anglers have proven time and time again that bass become more aggressive and are likely feeding heavily a majority of the day and night during this time of year. Another lake cracked 🔐 Finally after years of fishing I cracked this lake, after attempting to catch a carp time after time again and coming short more times than I can count; I can finally say I landed a proper specimen here at this hole. Although the carp are abundant the main challenge is finding a swim with minimal weeds, and a bare bottom which is nearly impossible, im glad I finally checked this lake off my list✅ Tackle Break Down -30 g. Went down to the local rez to test out some rigs today and they work‼️ I’ve always seen all the European carp anglers, utilizing the helicopter rig with a ronnie and I finally decided to shoot my shot at making both and using them in my fishing excursions. Although it requires a lot more terminal tackle this rig absolutely works and is worth using. It allows your hook bait to be cleanly and neatly presented above the silt and vegetation leaving your hook & bait easily accessible to the carp. While using this rig, it’s crucial to use a high profile scent boilie because the helicopter lead system does not allow anglers to use a packbait or groundbait mixture. I ended up having to go into the water chest deep because one of the pesky little carp ended up snagging me in an overturned tree that was laying in the water about 15 to 20 yards to the right of my swim. Sometimes it’s never about a big fish🧏🏽‍♂️ It’s about enjoying your night doing what you love went down to the local and cracked open a can of corn with the homie @fishing_socal_official. While we observed the lake we got our free lines ready with a couple kernels of corn on the hooks and our swim prepped by tossing a few handfuls of oats out. This place is loaded with a bunch of babies, so I didn’t expect much after catching a few hand size muddlers I ended hooking into a fish which caught my attention instantly with its stunning colors; A beautiful bronze almost copper like body with a gorgeous set of jet black fins. taken in Riverwalk by @thewestcoastcarper
