These are some of my favorite recommendations to give — the stories I simply couldn’t put down. The ones that have lived rent-free in my mind long after I turned the last page.

They’re certainly not all of my favorites… but they’re the kind of favorites that feel like they could become yours, too.

You’ll find:
šŸ—”ļø romantic fantasy
šŸ”„ slow burn tension
šŸŒ™ morally gray love interests
šŸ–¤ soft gothic undertones
🌊 lyrical, immersive worlds

Stories that feel sweeping and tender all at once. The kind that remind me why I fell in love with reading in the first place.

If you love romantasy, fantasy romance, dragon stories, broody MMCs, and heroines who fight for what they want… you’re in the right place.

Welcome to The Wildflower Review List — where stories bloom and become something beautiful. 🌸

Tell me your favorite fantasy romance below so I can add it to my TBR. šŸ‘‡šŸ¼

Hello, lovelies 🌸
I’m so excited to welcome you to The Wildflower Review List šŸ¤

I’m an avid reader who genuinely loves sharing reviews, thoughts, and occasionally… unsolicited opinions on the books I’ve read šŸ“šāœØ

I’m a mama, a full-time nanny, and a very loved wife šŸ¤ In my free time, you’ll almost always find me reading anything I can get my hands on — including ARCs I’ve been lucky enough to receive šŸ’Œ

Here, I’ll be reviewing a healthy mix of upcoming releases šŸ—“ļø and already-published novels you can grab right now šŸ“–

I deeply love and respect authors, and I truly believe there’s a book for every reader — and a reader for every book 🌷

This is a positive, kind space šŸ¤ Even when a book isn’t my personal favorite, my reviews will always be thoughtful and encouraging.

I previously shared reviews over at @nikkis_library_, but I’m starting fresh here with a new aesthetic 🌿 and a renewed love for sharing stories.

I’m just so happy that you’re here šŸ¦‹

I genuinely did not expect Broken Rival to impress me this much.

I enjoy Tessa Bailey’s romcoms, so I expected something fun, romantic, spicy, and a little outside her usual wheelhouse.

What I got was SO much more ambitious.

This story is twisty, emotional, surprisingly intricate, and built around time-travel rules that were genuinely easy to follow. It gave me just enough information to start forming theories without handing me the answers.

And then there’s the romance.

THE YEARNING.

I’m picky about relationships that develop quickly. I don’t mind fast feelings, but I need them to feel earned through something deeper than attraction—danger, protection, shared history, fate… give me a reason to believe these people could become so important to each other so quickly.

Without spoiling anything, Ramsey and Magnolia absolutely worked for me.

Ramsey is broody, protective, complicated, and so painfully devoted that I spent most of the book trying to figure out exactly what was happening inside that man’s head.

Which brings me to something I almost never say: I’m glad we didn’t get much of his POV.

Ramsey knows things Magnolia—and the reader—doesn’t. Instead of revealing too much, the story lets us share her confusion, notice the strange details, and slowly piece everything together. His perspective becomes available exactly when it should, and it was SO smart.

Broken Rival completely changed what I thought a Tessa Bailey book could be. I knew she could write chemistry, spice, banter, and an MMC who is absolutely gone for his girl.

I didn’t expect this level of plotting, foreshadowing, emotional layering, and speculative storytelling.

I’m so impressed.

My biggest recommendation when it hits shelves October 6th?

Go in as blind as possible. The less you know, the more fun you’ll have. Trust me. šŸ¤ by @thewildflowerlist

My name is Nik, and I’m a passionate reader and reviewer across Instagram, Goodreads, and Amazon.

I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a baby. It isn’t something I usually center when talking about myself, because I have never wanted one part of my life to become the whole of my identity. But it would also feel dishonest to explain what reading means to me without acknowledging it.

For me, this is the difficult part to share… the Thing that feels entirely uncomfortable, like prodding at an exposed nerve.
But it’s also valuable, so please handle this piece of me with care, friends.

Growing up, there were long hospital stays, endless treatments, and a lot of uncertainty about what my future might look like. While my classmates were worrying about finals and all the normal parts of growing up, I was often carrying anxieties that felt far above my pay grade.

Luckily, my mom was a book lover, and she taught me early just how powerful a story could be.

Reading gave me somewhere else to go. In books, I could experience so much life outside of my own. I could fall in love, explore new places, and imagine futures that felt far bigger than hospital rooms and treatments. As a child who wanted normalcy more than I could ever properly explain, that was a gift I don’t think I’ll ever be able to quantify.

Because of incredible advances in treatment, I’m very fortunate that my adult life now looks much more ordinary than the future I once imagined for myself. Still, books have never become any less important to me.

Reading has remained one of the greatest joys of my life, and I genuinely love getting to share that joy with other people. I think novels have a kind of magic that is entirely unique and irreplaceable. The same story can mean something completely different to every person who picks it up, and sometimes a book finds you at exactly the moment you need it.

That is why I’m so passionate about helping people discover stories that might make them feel understood, give them somewhere to escape for a while, or simply become their next favorite book. Because the book I share might just become someone else’s lifeline, and that is such an incredible thought.šŸ’ by @thewildflowerlist

First things first:

This. Book. Was. So. Freaking. Good.

Heads up: we’re officially entering gushy, hyped-up praise territory, because I just… can’t even.

I’m genuinely sad this book doesn’t come out until November 17th, because I SO badly want to talk about it in detail. There are so many things I want to point at and scream about, but this is one of those stories where I really think you’re better off knowing as little as possible going in. Just know: wowza, do you all have something incredible to look forward to. Tbh, if I were you, I’d just go ahead and preorder it immediately. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Okay, I guess I should actually get to the review now…

Firstly, I absolutely adored Valle. For reasons I won’t get into—because I truly don’t want to spoil anything about this story—I felt such a deep connection to her. I know what it’s like to have essentially no idea where you came from or what your history looks like, so there were parts of her journey that hit especially close to home for me.

At its bones, this is a story about a woman learning who she is, processing the trauma she’s carried, and figuring out how to let other people in.

But there is SO much more to it than that—and some of my favorite parts of this story are exactly the things I can’t tell you about yet.

Obviously, I can tell you there are vampires. (It’s in the title, so I feel pretty safe giving that one away. šŸ˜‚)

I can tell you there’s an incredibly compelling, swoon-worthy love story.

And I can tell you that Valle and Hadrian’s journeys are both deeply tied to questions of belonging—what it means to know where you come from, what parts of yourself are shaped by the past, and who you become when you finally get the chance to decide for yourself.

There are reveals, relationships, and layers to this story that made me want to immediately turn around and experience it all over again knowing what I know now.

And I loved every. single. second. of it. by @thewildflowerlist

A few years ago, when I first started my Bookstagram journey, one of the very first ARCs I ever reviewed was an indie-published novel called Any Trope But You, written by the absolutely lovely Victoria Lavine. I loved it, and I wasn’t surprised at all when it was quickly snatched up by a traditional publisher.

Fast forward a bit… Not That Kind of Proposal feels like such a genuinely perfect follow-up to that debut—and another huge accomplishment from a writer who is steadily establishing herself as a romcom powerhouse. It feels fresh and original while still carrying all the heart and warmth of a story you’ve somehow known and loved for a long, long time.

This was SUCH a sweet, charming romcom—with so much more depth than I expected. It explores not only what life looks like after romantic heartbreak, but also the ways people carry and cope with neglect, the lasting effects of people-pleasing, keeping heavy secrets, and the aftermath of domestic abuse. The story itself is still light, funny, and romantic, but DV is a part of the characters’ pasts, and I thought that heavier subject matter was woven into the story with so much care and thoughtfulness.

The plot is so fun, the banter is flawless, the characters are genuinely lovable, and everyone feels layered, human, and full of substance. There’s so much heart underneath all of the humor and chemistry, which made it incredibly easy to become invested in Gracie and Jude.

And I absolutely could not stop picturing Audrey Hepburn’s Holly Golightly and George Peppard’s Paul Varjak as Gracie Holland and Jude Larkwood—which only made me love their whole dynamic even more. There’s something about them that carries that same charming, slightly messy, effortlessly romantic energy.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a classic comfort watch for me, and I have a feeling Not That Kind of Proposal just became a comfort read. šŸ¤ by @thewildflowerlist

Okay, first off… these books are SO spicy. I feel like I have to get that out of the way right off the bat: if you don’t enjoy some very spicy spice, these might be a little too hot to handle. šŸŒ¶ļø

But what impressed me most was how well the author balanced all of that steam with a genuinely engaging plot, great representation, and meaningful conversations about the ways women are so often mistreated, judged, and shamed. There was so much substance woven throughout both stories that I never felt like the spice overshadowed everything else—which, considering just how spicy these books are, is saying something.

From the get-go, the atmosphere pulled me in, and the characters felt layered, well-written, and compelling. There’s a darkness to these stories, absolutely, but it never tipped into feeling hopeless or bleak. There was always enough heart underneath it all to keep me completely invested.

I flew through both Helfyre and Honey in two days, and was genuinely devastated when I realized the next books in the series aren’t expected until sometime in 2028. 😭 But honestly? I love having something I’m already this excited to look forward to.

If you want a high-spice, fast-paced dark fantasy romance with compelling characters, plenty of heart, and a story that actually holds its own alongside all that steam… look no further. šŸ”„ by @thewildflowerlist

After the way The Silversmith left me staring at the wall, I went into The Incendiary with VERY high expectations… and yep. Completely consumed all over again.

The atmosphere, the emotion, the tension—I loved being back in this world. But obviously, we need to talk about the ROMANCE because oh my goshhhh. The yearning!!! šŸ‘šŸ» Apparently, give me two people who desperately want each other but can’t just HAVE each other and I will eat it up every single time. The sequel took the yearning up by 100% (I’m not kidding, but I also don’t want to spoil anything… just prepare yourself!)

I was invested, stressed, swooning and basically incapable of putting this down because I needed to know what was going to happen.

If you love fantasy that’s atmospheric, emotional and character-driven, with a romance that will have you absolutely aching for the characters, you need this series. šŸ¤

I originally read The Silversmith when it was independently published, so I’m also just really excited to see this series getting a rerelease and finding a whole new group of readers. And after The ending of Incendiary? Ugh... I can’t even explain how badly I need the next book! by @thewildflowerlist

First thing I have to tell you: this book is already out, which means you can get your hands on it RIGHT NOW. (And spoiler: this is GREAT news, because I think you’re really going to love Tristan & Katie’s story!)

Between surgery and just… life, June and July were honestly a wash for ARC content. But I REALLY wanted to take a moment to thank @sophiatraversauthor, because being a part of this particular ARC team was such a lovely experience. I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it at this: thank you for trusting me to read this book early. I had so much fun with it! šŸ¤

This review is wildly overdue, but there is a silver lining: I get to share it with you at a point where you can immediately grab The Rebel Seeks a Wife. Even better? It’s on Kindle Unlimited! (And so is book one, The Heir, which I also highly recommend.)

This book has all the makings of a great contemporary romance: friends to lovers, bodyguard with a twist (we LOVE a strong, self-sufficient woman), old money, and a love that might be just a little forbidden… depending on who you ask.

I loved Tristan and Katie in The Heir, and I was honestly so impressed by how much chemistry they managed to have in a book where they were secondary characters. So naturally, I was pretty feral about getting my hands on their story.

And it DELIVERED.

This one is all heart. Tristan and Katie care so deeply for one another from page one, and we get to watch that connection evolve into something sweet, selfless, romantic, and undeniably steamy. Their friendship makes falling in love feel almost inevitable—and I absolutely ate it up.

I LOVED it.

Trust me when I say you’re going to want Tristan & Katie on your summer reading list. The Rebel Seeks a Wife feels like the perfect book to dive into as we soak up these last few weeks of summer. šŸŒŠā˜€ļø by @thewildflowerlist

I’m a girl who has never played a sport, watched a sport, or fan-girled over a sport in my entire life—Super Bowl parties HATE to see me coming. But slap a romance around literally any sport and suddenly I’m sat. (Also, don’t ask me a single question about football… but if anyone’s wondering, GO DUCKS. šŸ¦† They’ll revoke my ā€œborn in Oregonā€ credentials otherwise.)

Enter Hannah Grace. The author who, with just one book, convinced me that I desperately needed ice hockey romance in my life (and, subsequently, sports romance as a whole). What can I say? She’s iconic.

Waking up to an advance review copy of her upcoming novel, Champagne Problems, absolutely made my week. And if I screamed when I got the email? Well… that’s nobody’s business but mine.

In a twist that surprises absolutely no one, this book revolves around yet another sport I know precisely nothing about: Formula One. (I literally had to Google what the cars looked like. NOT the same as NASCAR, apparently. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø)

Leave it to Hannah Grace, because barely 20% in I was completely invested—not only in F1, but in the racing career of one Saint Thompson. When in Rome, y’know?

I absolutely adored this story, and I cannot wait for you all to get your hands on it because Hannah Grace has officially cracked the code and written the PERFECT book boyfriend. Saint Thompson? I would let that man wife me up SO fast… and I say that as a happily married woman with an extremely hot husband. šŸ˜‚

You’re gonna want to read this as soon as you can! by @thewildflowerlist
