An invitation to pause…

In the chaos of our fast-moving world, where every moment seems to demand our attention and every day brings new challenges, finding a moment of stillness can feel like an impossible task.

The noise.
The pace.

This is a gentle reminder that within each of us, there’s a quiet calm, untouched by the chaos of the outside world.

So take a moment to breathe deep friends. Let that calm wash over you like a gentle wave, reminding you of the deep wisdom nestled within 🤍

“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.” - Ram Dass

Joice from the series Epidermis by @sophieharristaylor. In the vein of classic 'beauty' photography, Epidermis highlights and showcases the skins of women less often seen.

“I was embarrassed to even step foot outside my house. The thought of people looking at all the "problems" on my face gave me anxiety. I just wanted to hide my face from everyone. It's been a difficult process, but I feel more empowered and I stopped caring what people think of my skin anymore. At the end of the day, it's just skin. It shouldn't dictate my entire life. Though my skin has gotten better ever since I started taking better care of my body, I've accepted that I may never have perfect skin. And that's okay.” - Joice

Work like this is essential in helping to shift homogenised perceptions of beauty and to normalise these all too common skin conditions. Skin positivity is about embracing all skin types and actually saying you don’t have to have a certain type of skin to be beautiful.

Today we wanted to shine a light on one of our favourite CO2 extracts.

One of the key active ingredients in The Serum, this CO2 extract is from the whole berries of the deciduous tree, Sea Buckthorn. Steeped with adaptogenic properties, Sea Buckthorn easily penetrates through the epidermis to remove excess toxins and to improve blood circulation and skin oxygenation.

With close to 200 properties, Sea Buckthorn has 6 different fat soluble vitamins, 22 fatty acids, 42 kinds of lipids and 36 kinds of flavonoids, and is the richest natural source of Vitamin A [beta carotene] and omega-7.

This abundance of rich ingredients makes it highly protective against harmful radiation [solar or X-rays] with regenerative and anti-ageing effects.

And, due to the moisturising fatty acids that buckthorn oil contains, it has an innate ability to revive skin cells, and the high content of Vitamin E and C reduces the gravity and length of wrinkles while alleviating tough skin. In fact, Vitamin E has been proven to be one of the leading natural ingredients in anti-ageing remedies.

The Serum is 100% natural and 99.5% organic.

If you have any questions about The Serum or any of our other products, feel free to DM us — we’re always here to help.

We're frequently asked if it’s absolutely necessary to exfoliate. In short — it absolutely is.

Our dermis is constantly producing new skin cells and the multitude of physical and emotional stresses we encounter each day means we need to encourage the removal of the dead cells that can leave us looking and feeling congested.

The key is gentle exfoliation.

The Exfoliant — our unique little powerhouse powder that transforms into an incredible exfoliating mask — has ingredients that are gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types while still providing a powerful exfoliation.

Each ingredient was meticulously chosen for their innate ability to calm and purify skin, with Activated Charcoal, Indian Gooseberry and White Kaolin Clay being star performers. And the addition of Zinc Oxide, a tried and tested ingredient to soothe compromised skin, helps to reduce redness and inflammation.

And a tip for using The Exfoliant…

Combine a pinch of powder with The Serum to create a wonderfully anti-ageing and hydrating mask we call The Omega Scrub.

To use, apply it all over the face and neck and leave for around 10 minutes before rinsing with The Cleanser, to leave skin thoroughly cleansed, softened and with a brighter complexion.

If you aren’t already using an Essence in your routine, it could be time to consider introducing one to increase your level of hydration.

Although often confused with a toner or a serum, an essence is in fact neither. It is an aqueous, hydrating solution which can be fortified with nourishing ingredients.

While almost all essences offer hydration, The Essence [pictured here] is a multi-functional formulation designed to cover multiple products in one, delivering all the results you need in a single step.

The Essence is 97% organic (100% natural) and is capable of deeply hydrating the skin by combining ingredients like Snow Mushroom (which can hold up to 500 times its weight in water) with super fine particles that drive hydration deep into the skin.

Our unique formula also includes natural plant acids, for a gentle micro-exfoliation that reveals a fresh, smooth complexion, Liquorice Root and Niacinamide to brighten and reduce the appearance of discolouration, strengthening Bisabolol, plus a full-suite of nutrients, including Calcium Gluconate — an essential mineral for the skin to soothe and add restorative skin barrier support.

Ready to simplify your routine? Click our link in the bio to learn more and to shop The Essence and our multi-correctional skincare range, The Black Collection.

When we live our lives primarily indoors, our senses can become dull and out of touch.

But why is this a problem?

Seeing, tasting, touching, smelling, and feeling are the ways in which we interact with the world around us and so they become very important in keeping us present in our lives and making us feel connected to the world. Our senses are what makes us feel alive.

When we connect with nature using our senses, feelings of dullness are replaced by vibrancy and just like that, our senses are activated.

Using nature’s myriad sounds, smells, and sights is an easy way to destress and get present in your life. The philosopher Immanuel Kant wrote that “All knowledge begins with the senses.”

The Wild Together was born out of this connection to nature — to bring moments of sensorial respite to daily lives, that helps settle the soul.

Next time you apply The Moisturiser or The Essence, take pause. What do you see, smell, hear, and feel?

Your senses are ready and waiting to guide you back to presence 🌱🌸🌳

Notorious for its negative impact on the environment, the cosmetics industry contributes to pollution and drains natural resources in multiple ways.

More than 120 billion units of packaging are produced every year by the global cosmetics industry.

The majority of beauty products come packaged in plastic, which – when talking about your average moisturiser pot – can take nearly 1,000 years to decompose.

Then there’s the plastic wrappings, inserts, sleeves, foam, mirrored glass and more, sometimes all present in one purchase.

Then there's the vast water waste, too. As the industry’s most used ingredient, there are concerns that demand for water could outstrip supply. Some brands, like ourselves, respond to this responsibly by formulating with richer ingredients and less water — with some products containing no water at all.

The sustainability of ingredients used in products is also an area of environmental concern, from how they’re sourced to the long-term impact of farming them for cosmetic purposes.

Palm oil for example, which is used in approximately half of all consumer goods, is causing widespread deforestation plus the extinction of many animal species.

At The Wild Together, we intentionally take a regenerative approach to every creation we put into the world because we believe that our planet doesn’t need more; it needs better.

The future of beauty can be green if we approach skincare with a conscious consumerism that puts the needs of the planet alongside the needs of our skin.

“We often forget that WE ARE NATURE. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.” ― Andy Goldsworthy

To this theme, we’re captivated how human and nature are juxtaposed in Korean visual artist Cho Gi-Seok’s, Flower Study series. From turning the human form into organic likenesses of flowers to drawing on themes of nostalgia, we're reminded of our harmony with nature in their uncanny allure.
