Oh, what a day! ❤️

It is a wrap; my first @xoxofibre event ever at the @pipeshop_venue last Sunday. I am blown away by the powers of @ponniematin.studios and her team of wonderful volunteers. Never in my dreams could I have imagined how much fibre excitement, love and connection could gather in one place. Each and every vendor being so supportive and inspiring. Some truly made my day! Wink to @thatisnotverypolite @feltbyjane @mallorydonen @ninetenpub @dreamsbykiki & her sweetest helper (see picture) and the AMAZING ladies of @woolwerx who dropped by so many times to take a selfie with Martha, my weighted emotional support chicken, which was absolutely hilarious!

I will post more stories about this new experience, after I caught up on some more sleep and some more processing on paper. I learned SO much from this event (+ the prepping), I got a few orders in, I want to get in touch with my new fibre friends. I am SO SO happy.

Thank you all for believing in me and spreading so much confetti around on this BIG DAY!

The Wool & the Wild is the creation of North Vancouver crochet teacher Hannah, whose mission is wonderfully simple: spread the joy of crochet among children. From her little outdoor crochet studio, Hannah creates a relaxed, welcoming place where kids can learn with their hands, follow their curiosity and discover the satisfaction of turning yarn into something of their own.

Hannah takes a student-led approach to teaching, offering one-on-one lessons, group classes, workshops, summer camps and crochet birthday parties for beginners and experienced young makers alike. She also volunteers in schools, taking her love of crochet beyond the studio and into the community.

At The Wool & the Wild, you’ll find Hannah’s crocheted creations alongside crochet instruction booklets and starter packs designed to help new makers begin their own fibre journey. More than anything, though, Hannah is sharing a skill—and the confidence, creativity and connection that can grow from learning it one stitch at a time.

After a very busy Summer and a dynamic first week of settling back into routines I finally gained some energy to look back at photos.

I need to share this!

Look how unbelievably adorable this little creature is! This is the work of a 10yo girl who has moved to North Vancouver this Summer and signed up my Summer Crochet Camp to make some new crochet friends.

She was an inspiration to all!! Her skills were amazing. Her confidence was over the roof. Her jokes were hilarious. She was a delight.

For a moment I wondered how I could inspire someone who knows what she wants, and has the skills to do it. But fair enough, I did it! Unintentionally, haha. All of a sudden she started making these little ghosts with hats with my glow in the dark yarn. I don't have pictures of the other hats, but there was definitely a mushroom hat as well. I think it is the cutest idea. And I might feel inspired to make some too!

People, I have some very exciting news to share!

XOXO Fibre is a wonderful community building event I am now involved in.

I will have a stand there and would love to see some familiar faces!! Read: drop by with my students if you can! It is an amazing way for them to see how fun working with fibres is, and what else you can do with yarn, besides crocheting with it.

This is also the spot where I will sell my tutorial booklets for a discounted price and some crocheted items to cherish or gift. It is a free event for kids (accompanied by a paying adult), but adult admission is $10 only. You can purchase your tickets on the XOXO Fibre website or if you can’t make it, we would appreciate any donations or sponsorship to make this inclusive event a community success!

So drop by and come say hi!
