I wish I had something more eloquent to say- I don’t yet have the words, but as people have expressed concern over me and I don’t want anyone worrying...one of my best friends- the one person who has walked beside me through thick and thin for the entire 14 years I have lived in LA- was taken away from us last week, on my birthday, by a coward of a man- and I am heartbroken. I am angry. I have never felt such raw pain as this. There is an Amie-sized hole in my heart, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her knows how big a hole that is...I have spent the last week hiding in bed away from all the noise and wanting to just disappear, however, alongside those closest to her, I am determined to get up and not only mourn her loss, but also fiercely celebrate her incredible life. In time I will find the words to honor her, but for now- Amie, I love you to the sun and back. 🖤 by @theworldofstanley

Somehow, this is real 😭♥️

We have the absolute honor of being part of this stunning mural at @sweetwater_weho , painted by the insanely talented @therealmelpoz , and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it.

I’ve shared so much of our life over the years. The adventures, the ridiculous moments, the life we’ve built together, and some of our hardest chapters too..

But I don’t think I’ve ever really written about what it means that the person I love is a woman.

Maybe that’s because it’s never felt like something I needed to explain. Loving one another has always felt like the most natural thing in the world.

And that’s exactly what this mural captures.

It doesn’t ask anyone to debate our existence. It doesn’t explain itself. It doesn’t apologize. It simply celebrates love between women. Not as something controversial or extraordinary, but as something joyful, beautiful, and completely worthy of taking up space.

As a woman who loves another woman, I’ve never questioned that our love belongs. But seeing it reflected back in public art like this reminded me how important it is that we continue supporting spaces where sapphic love is visible, celebrated, and allowed to exist without explanation.

Thank you, Berni, for creating a space where art like this can exist and for choosing us to be a small part of its story. Sweetwater is so much more than a nightclub. It’s a place where people can gather, celebrate, connect, and simply exist as themselves. In a world that doesn’t always make that easy, places like this matter.

And Mel…You are absolutely extraordinary. There is something especially meaningful about seeing love between women captured through the eyes of a woman who has lived it herself. You didn’t just paint our likeness- you captured something that feels unmistakably us. Every time I look at this mural, I’m reminded that art has the power to make people feel seen and quietly remind them they already belong.

I hope people stop because it’s breathtaking. I hope they admire your incredible artistry. And I hope every woman who loves another woman sees this mural and is reminded that she never needed permission for her love to belong.

It always has. ♥️ by @theworldofstanley

Ten years sober today 🙌

Ten years of rawdogging life.

No substances. No numbing out. No escape hatch when things got hard. Just me, my feelings, and a truly unreasonable amount of character development 😅

And there has been so much life packed into those ten years.

I’ve experienced incredible love. I’ve experienced devastating loss. I’ve laughed until I cried and cried until I thought I might never stop. I’ve learned that life can be breathtakingly beautiful and completely unfair, sometimes on the very same day.

I’ve also endured 11 grueling surgeries, 9 of them in the last four years. I’ve had to learn to walk again. And again. And then again for good measure.

But some of the moments that shaped me most are moments I desperately would have tried to numb ten years ago.

I’m grateful I was there for them.

Because sobriety didn’t just give me a life without drugs or alcohol. It gave me the chance to actually live my life. To feel it all. To grow through it. To learn what I’m capable of surviving.

It hasn’t been easy.

But it has been real.

And despite everything, I wouldn’t trade a second of it.

Here’s to ten years sober. Ten years present. Ten years of learning, healing, loving, losing, rebuilding, and becoming.

And somehow, after all that, I’m still standing. Pun definitely intended 😉

Heaven got greedy and took another angel- my grandma, the bluegrass sweetheart of New England, Grace French 💛 She was radiant, endlessly talented, and a pioneer in every sense of the word. She spent her life filling rooms with music, laughter, and love, and somehow kept laughing even in her final days. What a privilege it was to belong to her 💛🪕 by @theworldofstanley

7 Years Strong and still breaking hearts out here!! This time has gone so fast, I really can’t believe it. I’m so stoked for every moment I get with you @theworldofstanley

Today we laid my grandma, the beautiful Queen Evelyn, to rest. She was the gentlest kind of love. She was warmth, comfort, and quiet elegance- with the most wonderful side of silly. We’ll miss her so much. Our Queen forever 💛🌻 by @theworldofstanley

If the world ends, it’s ok because I know I already have the best team ever. We survived the zombie apocalypse escape room, but the real win is getting to do life with gorgeous souls like you 😭💚🧟‍♀️ #thisis41 by @theworldofstanley

Happy birthday to my beautiful siiiiister @sarahthepriest 🥳🙌 you truly are the best big sister ever and I’m so grateful I get to do this life with you 💛 “We are not shrimps! We are King Prawns!” by @theworldofstanley

Oh my sweet Zombie boy. My chonky chicken nugget. My grompy bumble bee. Saying goodbye to you really sucked. Cancer sucks. You were always so solid- I really thought you would live forever. You fought so hard and were so brave. I’m so proud of you, and feel beyond lucky to have been blessed with being your mom for 15 years. Your cuddles were epic. Your headbutts-iconic. And your ability to swipe my food off of my plate? That’s the stuff that kitty legends are made of.

I’m so relieved you’re no longer in pain, and I will gladly carry the pain of losing you because it means you are finally resting easy.

Love you always my sweet sweet bean

💚

KHAOS (n.) In Greek mythology, the primordial void. The vast nothingness from which the universe was born- not disorder, but infinite potential👾

Huge thank you to @mayonaize for this stunning piece- you’re an absolute legend 🙌 can’t wait to get the rest done (but also I definitely can 😆) by @theworldofstanley
