In our new collection, Whispers of Wild Africa, we talk about conservation: the animals and their homes. Meet the African Painted Wolf (Wild Dog), whose survival relies on open wild spaces and clear wildlife corridors.⁠⁠

The African Painted Wolf has a devoted following of lovers, and it’s easy to see why. With coat patterns as unique as human fingerprints and curious young pups that love to investigate, they form tight-knit packs bound by extraordinary family dynamics. They are democratically minded (literally voting on when to hunt by sneezing) and care for their sick or injured members, ensuring the whole pack eats before the dominant pair. ⁠

With a hunting success rate of over 80%, they are Africa's most efficient apex predator. Yet their true strength lies in their relentless teamwork. ⁠

That's where continuous, protected habitats step in. Unbroken wild spaces give packs the massive room they need to hunt, safe denning areas to raise their next generation, and the freedom to roam without human conflict.⁠

Pangolins the world’s most heavily trafficked wild mammal, with over a million individuals estimated to have been poached over the past decade.⁠

They are trafficked for traditional medicine, luxury meat and their leather and scales for fashion. ⁠
