The WUU2K is a 21k half trail marathon, 45k trail marathon, and 65k Ultra trail marathon based in Wellington, NZ. We also run the WAI2K events.

The WUU2K artwork auction is taking place tomorrow at 5pm in person at @waitoabeer on Victoria Street.
We will also try and live feed via FB WUU2K page for any others wanting to bid.

The Red Rocks piece starts at $200 with all proceeds going to @mhfnz

The other piece will start at $500 titled 'Lovestruck'

Both pieces painted by race RD Gareth Thomas signed one of a kind by @thewuu2k

We'll be running a live art auction of the 2026 artwork from Devils gate at Red Rocks.

I MAY also bring my latest piece 'Lovestruck' in to auction separately. Not sure if I want to let it go yet though so this is a maybe!

● Where: WAITOA bar on Victoria Street, Wellington
● When: 5pm Sunday 26th july
● Bidding starts at $200 for the WUU2K artwork . One of a kind.
● ALL proceeds going to @mhfnz
● Lovestruck will be a separate auction for a bit of fun.

This will be an in-person auction which we may try and livestream if any interested parties are kenn.

The WUU2K 2026!

What a fabulous weekend! My personal heartfelt thanks goes out to firstly all of the runners who entered the event. Your contribution helps sustain the WUU2K and it obviously wouldn't happen without you.

Our WUU2K core crew of Cate, Brent,Stu, Andrew, Rhys and Brad always bring their combined years of experience to help make it all happen seamlessly.

Our massive volunteer army with most of them coming back year after year. These people give up their time and energy to bring smiles, banter, colour and support to all. My utmost appreciation goes to our amazing volunteers

I didn't get around to doing the auction for the WUU2K painting so will attempt to get this done shortly.

Ill get an online store set up for any of you wanting to order race merch. It'll be later this week.

The WAI2K is open for entries, so come along, entrr and support our sister event in November.

And that's a wrap. Triple WUU2K done and dusted, with $5.4K raised for Cancer Society NZ. I'll keep the page open till Friday (link in bio), but all you generous people have helped me smash my target!

Big thanks to all the support on the day(s) and night from @killphill13 @average_ginger_runner @zozo_mac and everyone who cheered me on or walked with me to chat. Was great to have @will.i.run to see me off on Friday night and the start of the race on Saturday morning, as he came up with the idea and smashed it in some nasty conditions back in 2022.

Starting Friday night after work meant I was a bit loopy on Saturday, but 100% worth it. @thewuu2k is such a special event and it was awesome being able to run all three courses back to back (just under 9 hours for the first two, a quick change and lie down, then 8:24 for the 65k leg). Very windy overnight, but a stunning day for the actual WUU2K event on Saturday.

| P R O U D |
So much to be proud of and grateful for this weekend that my heart is overflowing.

I’m proud of my athlete @kate__arnold who came 2nd at @thecogmans.run 50km after a crazy build-up including recovery from invasive surgery, hours and hours of rehab and physio, and struck by a nasty flu 2 days before race day.
I’m proud of my best friend @heleenmills who came 3d in the same race after she herself battled for months through not one but THREE injuries doing more strength training and rehab than anyone I know. So, so, so well deserved bestie!
I’m also proud of all the other @flatrockendurance who ran strong races at Cogmans, and our very first “Flatrock On Tour” event with coach Erin cheering our athletes on in person. I hope I can be part of a tour in person in the future ☺️

I’m proud of my friend and physio @juan_carstens85 who ran his first race after months of struggling with his own health but helping everyone else (including me) to prepare for their own races. YOU’RE BACK!

I’m proud of my athlete @lizanig who smashed the WUU2k 45km and fought till the end despite crippling cramps. It’s already hard to finish when everything goes right during an ultra, but when things go wrong and you still push through… That’s when real resilience is built 💪🏽

I’m proud of @xavierbriel who ran a very strong 65km himself, smiling till the end. And being the best cheerleader on the out-and-back section where I was dying while trying to stay in front of the chasing pack 😂

And me… Well, I had a shocker week at work with loads of stress and very little sleep; and nearly decided not to race… But I lined up and decided to make it a simulation of “the second half of UTMB” race and just DO IT tired.
🥈Place (passed by fellow vet @hannah_mcrae1 3km before the finishline after I took a wrong turn 😅) and 4mins faster than last year 💪🏽 at @thewuu2k … And I couldn’t have asked for better weekend 💛

Unpacked the majority of race day gears. Thankfully this year all of its DRY!

Ill put a post out in the next few days to summarize the weekend from my side. For now, a massive, massive heartfelt thank you to EVERYONE who did their part to support the WUU2K. It really does mean a lot. Without you, there is no WUU
