“Audubon’s greatness is that he excelled-as one self trained-in seeing and expressing the reality which, though present to all of us, goes largely unseen. It is literally true that the artist paints in order to see better, and thereby he becomes a pathfinder. If this view of art and the artist’s role is sound, it must follow that the scientist, too-as ornithologist, ethologist, ecologist-has new things to tell us about birds and all reality. Art, science, philosophy-all human striving at expression-are methodologies in the endless quest for understanding of an ever larger reality.” Roland C. EVENT POSTPONED until next Sunday November 10th. Due to the unpredictable nature of the fires this past week, we have decided to reschedule “Where the Mountains Meet the Sea”. Sunday, Nov 10th, 2-5pm
Join us for a collaborative art event “Where the Mountains Meet the Sea” with Geoff and Sarah Seelinger.
Participants will compose an evolving tableau with fragments from the sea and woodlands, including driftwood, sea glass, bone bits, interesting forest detritus, leaves, seeds and stones. These compositions invite participants to experience some of the wondrous details of our landscape and reflect on our changing environment. Tea and drinks will be served.
719 DTLA Gallery - 719 S. Spring Street, LA. @sarahseelinger #art #collab #tableau #sea #woodlands #contemporaryart #painting #sculpture #environment #ecoart #wonderous #landscape #fragments #dtla #gallery_legit by @theyellowhousefoundation
