I KNOW you now wanna compete in the gay rodeo next year, don’t you 🤠 Best Buck in the Bay — the NorCal @igrarodeo Rodeo — was the best. But 2026 will be even better with you as a card-carrying, boot-wearing, competitor baddie!

You can enter day-of like I did, or start preparing for events like calf roping, goat dressing, chute dogging, and more. (Comment YEEHAW if you wanna hear more about what competing looks like!) and thanks to the amazing rodeo crew who helped me along the way 💞 #gayrodeo #yeehaw taken in Duncans Mills, California by @theyngels

YOU BELONG HERE.

This trans flag that flew on El Capitan is an epic reminder that queer people belong everywhere—on big walls, on the trails, and serving and protecting our public lands. It’s a reminder that this month and every month, nature is for ALL people. And parks tell ALL stories.

This administration continues to try to censor your history, your parks.

Within hours, authorities demanded this flag, which did not violate park regulations and was the third protest flag flown on El Cap in recent memory, be removed. References to gender and trans people have been scrubbed from NPS.gov. And they’re digging in deeper against any nuanced understanding of our nation’s history. (A recent secretarial order banned park signs “that are negative about either past or living Americans or that fail to emphasize the beauty, grandeur, and abundance of landscapes and other natural features.” 🤢)

But the history they’re trying to censor reminds us how 👏🏻history👏🏼is👏🏾made👏🏿. The Black trans women who led the fight for pride didn’t ask to take up space, they simply did. We’ll continue to shout from the rooftops, hang flags from our iconic landmarks, and demand that public lands stay in public hands—and parks are for EVERYONE. Happy Pride ya’ll 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ by @theyngels

“The Earth's iron in your blood allows you to use oxygen created by other species to empower your cells to live and produce energy. How strange it is when I hear people talk about visiting nature as if they're an outsider. With every breath you declare your kinship with nature.” A person in a banana slug costume holds a banana phone sounded by banana slugs and tweet reads “hard for me to see gender as biological if it requires a police state to enforce it” by @theyngels

Gay is good & pride is a protest. An outrage, a statement of values, a celebration. This year, the government tried to squelch that & push us back in the closet. Thanks to all who fought back: rangers literally won San Francisco corporate Pride. But our liberation has not been achieved.

It’s my birthday, and I’m f*ndraising; here’s why:

Three years ago today lighting strikes sparked fires that burned +80,000 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I remember the dread of impending evacuation, the anguish of leaving my home, and the relief of returning.

Many in Maui will not have that privilege. This fire is already the deadliest in recent US history — and US colonization, water greed, and extractive tourism are directly responsible. Insult to injury: investors are already trying to buy out locals before they can even assess the losses & bury their loved ones.

On the 3rd anniversary of the CZU Lighting Complex - and for my birthday - I’m matching up to $500 donated in the next week to families in Lahaina.

EDIT 9/16: together we raised more than $2000 which I sent directly to more than 2 dozen individual families who lost their homes in the fire. I ❤️ mutual aid!

2! 4! 6! 8! All these rangers are not straight!! 🏳️‍🌈🥳🏳️‍⚧️🌲
75 years ago, people like us would have been fired from federal employment due to fascist moral panic (yikes). Today, we’re America’s scientists & storytellers — and that win is worth celebrating.
As @mattmillado said for @goldengatenps, queerness expands our capacity for empathy. Our conservation work centers community and is guided by compassion, for each other & the natural world. We listen to the land, learn from its bounty, and lead others to find their own grounding, connection, and selves.
We are here, we are queer, and we are rangers. How will you do right by this world? #Pride by @theyngels
