Re-introducing GOBLIN MODE 🕯️
It’s actually impossible to capture the fluorescent, glow-in-the-dark type green these things are in real life! However, I can paint a pretty accurate picture of the scent for you: think Caramel Apple Pop. You know what I’m talking about? The shocking green lollipop with a sticky caramel coating in the little green and white wrapper, tossed nonchalantly into your trick-or-treat pillowcase on Halloween night. I somehow unlocked the exact flavour of those things in fragrance form a few years ago, and I’ve been making a limited batch for spooky season ever since! If you yourself are strange and unusual, or perhaps you’re an appreciator of the overlooked, or just a hoarder of trinkets, get a load of GOBLIN MODE this Saturday at @thestrangebazaar!!

Re-introducing DRACULA MOUNTAIN 🕯️ I’ve made variations of this candle for a few spooky seasons now, but I think I’ve finally landed on the perfect blend of fragrance. This scent is meant to evoke an excited fistful of Halloween candy, but with a sort of sophisticated reimagining. It’s as perfectly at home at a pinteresting October dinner party as it is at a costumed rager. The radiant, layered heart of sweet orange candies is tempered with tart black licorice, nostalgic creamsicle, and an earthy hint of yerba santa. Dressed with marigold petals and oat straw, as well as a beeswax skull.

Real heads might remember EYE OF JUPITER from Summer 2025! Inspired by the alien, sagebrush-covered landscape north of Kamloops, this scent is a portal straight to the strange and beautiful desert. Chaparral doesn’t actually grow here, but it forms a perfect, instantly recognizable base for this fragrance. Sagebrush, juniper, yarrow, and sweetgrass round out the scent, with a hint of petrichor, signalling a rare moment of rain to refresh all the life in the desert hills. The scent is otherworldly and familiar at the same time, and feels nostalgic and refreshing in the spaces it occupies.
If you’re curious about the name, “Eye of Jupiter” is the name of the episode of Battlestar Galactica (the newer one) that was filmed in the hills north of Kamloops! 🤓

Introducing 🕯️SILK LANTERN🕯️
In 2012, I visited Beijing’s ancient palace, and I remember it drenched in sunshine and surrounded by nodding clusters of peonies. I remember stopping frequently, transfixed by my favorite flower (I wasn’t touching them YOU were touching them), hypnotized by the gentle scent. While the memory has faded over time, the last instalment in my Spring in Different Cities Non-Series was always going to involve Beijing. This fragrance is soft and delicate, with gentle peony at its heart. Sweet peas and jasmine subtly flank the star flower, as does aged parchment paper, resting atop a rich base of oud. There is also a note of smoked Lapsang Souchong tea, a nice foil to the sweet floral notes, which is really only detectable when the candle is lit.
These will debut at @thealtmarket this Sunday the 28th! Can’t wait to see you there 🖤 by @theysister

A late introduction for TEXAS FUNERAL: both the title of one of my favorite songs and a cheeky name for a roses-and-leather scented candle. Petals of wild rose, tea rose, and Rose de Mai are all represented in this fragrance, along with the sharp green leaves and stems. Stirring below are notes of worn leather and comforting, molasses-y tonka bean. It’s a scent that feels instantly familiar and, somehow simultaneously, unapologetically lush.
Made under the New Moon in Taurus, this candle asks us to look within for what truly comforts us, and to lay anything else to rest.

I only have a few of these left, as much of the first batch ended up flawed. Should I whip up a second batch for @thealtmarket on the 28th..? by @theysister
