Lost this fish weeks ago. Tried a few times each week with no luck. This morning I fooled her. Took a rabbit zonker jig I tied. #trout#patroutfishing#fishing by @thezachatree

Haven’t been throwing the Tenkara much this year, but I plan to do more as fall settles in. This past week I knocked some of the dust off my muscle memory and had some really fun mornings with the Japanese stick. This nissin rod has really become one of my favorite rods for the local area. by @thezachatree

One of the biggest rock bass I’ve caught locally. I’ve gotten them much larger in my travels, but it was really awesome to see one more than triple the size of the normal from here. by @thezachatree

Hard to explain and kinda unbelievable, but this week I’ve been catching baby walleye in Newmanstown on the mill…. I do have an explanation for it, but it isn’t worth typing it out here. Tiny as they are, this is the most curious an exciting captures I’ve had this year. It’s things like this that remind me why I love fishing so much. Even a place I’ve fished my entire life for thousands of hours can still turn up genuine surprises.

I will fish till the day I die and I’ll probably die while fishing. by @thezachatree

Another brute. 4 pounds 2oz. I’ve been living off trout these last few weeks. All of them have coho salmon colored meat and taste absolutely fantastic. Definitely stocked from private hatchery that’s using quality feed. by @thezachatree

Flooding brought carp to the banks of a lake I found. Was able to crack into some using a trout magnet and UL tackle.

Western Maryland was pretty cool even though the rain put a damper on my plans. by @thezachatree

Smallmouth was trying to eat trout I was catching in the lower section of the creek. Tried a number of things and big ol twister did the job. by @thezachatree
