Born In Fire by K.F. Breene
Rating: 4/5 ⭐️ Spice Level: 1/5 🌶️
Review: This story follows a bounty hunter and a vampire working together on a job. I have heard of this series when it first came out, and now it’s being traditionally published with a new cover, sprayed edges, and more. Breene is a great world builder, and I loved how the supernatural world was structured. Especially as it takes place in New Orleans, which was so fun! The story was fun and entertaining with fast pacing. This book is on the shorter side, so it’s a quick and easy read.

Reagan is a bada** bounty hunter, and I love seeing her perspective of the world and how she tries to show the men who women truly are. She doesn’t have much development in this book as this story felt more like an introduction to the world, but I do believe we will see growth of her character in future books. Darious is the side lead, and I enjoyed his character. I love how he is obsessed with Reagan and proves it to her. I am excited to learn more about his character. There is not really romance in this book, but more of the sexual tension being created for future books. There are a few side characters in this book but none who truly captured my attention just yet.

The ending was great and ends with a cliffhanger for the future books. I am super excited to see what is in store for Reagan and Darius, and I hope we get Darius’ pov. I recommend checking out this series and following with this vampire/bounty hunter romance.

I am a huge fan of The Planted Prisoner series and the newest release, The Sweetest Fiend! Raven Kennedy is an incredible author and she has so many books and series out in the world!

The Romance Revival by Christmas Lauren
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ Spice: 2/5 🌶️
Review: This story follows the daughter of a rock star who is now working for the hottest musician. This was a cute story and I enjoyed the storyline with the popstar world in the background. I do have to say that the book did start off a bit slow but once Clemmie has to work for Theo, that’s when everything became interesting. The pacing started to pick up and the conflicts were getting good. I loved getting to see how the celebrity world affected Clemmie and seeing her presepective of it. This book is told from Clemmie’s pov.

Clemmie is the FMC and I enjoyed her story. Her life just took for the worst and I loved seeing her grow. I do have to say that it felt like her character did take a 360 from the beginning to the middle, like she just became a new person. Then we have Theo. I loved his character. We don’t really get too much of his character but I loved how much he cares for Clemmie especially at the end. There are other side characters in this book such as Clemmie’s family and Cynthie. The romance is one night stand, forced proximity, and slow burn which was well done and the chemistry between the coupel was amazing.

The ending was well done and I loved how the story turned out. This was a cute book and if the beginning picked up better, this could have been a 5/5 star read. Overall, I recommend checking out this book and I am super excited for book 2 for Cynthie’s story.

Just Between Us by Lena Hendrix
Rating: 4/5 ⭐️ Spice: 2/5 🌶️
Review: This is the 3rd book in the series, and I recommend reading the first two books to understand this one. This book follows Royal and Veda who meet online (but don’t know) and realize they are working in the same town. I am loving this series, and Hendrix did it again with a great storyline. I loved the romance story and then the entire mystery coming to an end with this book. The pacing was fast, and we get to discover more of the Sullivan/King lands. This book is told from both Royal and Veda’s pov.

Royal is the MMC of the story who is a tattoo shop owner with a secret hobby. I love his character, especially seeing him from his previous books, and finding out that he’s such a golden retriever. I loved his growth and his confidence. Then we have Veda, the FMC, who is the black cat who is good at her job. I loved Veda’s character, especially with how different she is from the other girls in this book and is a complete bada**. I loved seeing her have fun and open up throughout this story. There are also many side characters in this book, and I loved getting to see JP more. The romance is opposites attract, friends to lovers, and forced proximity with steamy scenes.

The ending was well done with everything unraveling. I am glad that Hendrix took this route because I didn’t know how long I could wait for the mystery, and now I am super excited for JP’s story, especially after that ending. I can’t wait for the next book, and I recommend checking out this story.
