Just a girl who makes big messes, and sometimes other things too.

You might not have known this about me… but sometimes I make things. 👀 Usually a mess. Sometimes art. I just enjoy creating now and then ya know? Canvas, spackle, texture, paint. ❤️ I hope you follow the @things.rach.makes by @things.rach.makes

Inspired by my checkered Vans and my checkered phone case. Because I do love pretty much checkered anything. 🏁👀 And while it is a meticulously measured and simple pattern, each textured square in this piece is unique and special. Lots of painter tape. Lots of spackle. Lotta patience. Lotta love. by @things.rach.makes

Stay till the end for reveal 😉. It’s my favorite and it can be yours! (the painting, not the dog). DM for details!

This one had a little bit of everything. Took a long time and a lot of patience… 2 canvases, acrylic paint, texture paste, sponging, blending, cutting, weaving. And I’ve officially run out of wall space in the house so I’m sharing the love.

A little belated Mother’s Day gift for the queen of all flowers @nancy_east_sac_grdn_pro.

For this one I piped artist gesso to create the design before painting it in Confident White. And yes, I filmed this by a tree outside of FedEx on Lincoln Ave before sending it on its journey to the best mom there is. ❤️ by @things.rach.makes

This piece was a fun little experiment in piping and a hard lesson in not wearing clothes you care about while painting. We shall call her “Lost in a hallway daydream.” #spackleart #paint #art by @things.rach.makes

Little Surfer Andrea 🏄🏼‍♀️ will never be as badass as the real @a.bass.01 (who commissioned this piece), but she definitely is trying! Side note: let this video be a lesson in making sure the camera is in focus 🙊 by @things.rach.makes

Ed and Edna. Brought to you by @things.rach.makes Two little forest creatures inspired by a trip to a beautiful place called Far Meadow where I collected and pressed the wild flowers which serve as their fluffy little tails. Then hours of practice drawing before putting pen to canvas and finally, water color markers to give them life. Is Ed’s nervous offering a play to win Edna’s attention or an olive branch to say he’s sorry for stealing the last acorn? I guess we’ll never know… #art by @things.rach.makes

Meet ‘Little Surfer Andrea’ - the mini version of good friend and certified badass lady @a.bass.01 . This is my favorite of a three-piece series she commissioned which included surf, snowboard, and dirt bike scenes: her three greatest passions. Like I said, the girl’s a badass! And she has good taste in art too 😘

My very first spackle art! The one that started it all. Lots of trial and error and messing around… which is of course is the beauty of this kind of thing (and also the reason there are permanent paint spills all over our driveway 😬).
