I know we all love a Goodwill run, but did you know… 👀

💸 prices at some locations are starting to rival retail, even with their product FREE

🏢 Goodwill operates as a nonprofit, but reported $92.6 million in revenue in 2024 while paying their employees a below livable wage.

🏷️ And $12 for a used T-shirt? That was DONATED?? Be so for real. 😭 I saw some KID Jordan’s a few weeks ago that were $45 ☠️

There are SO many local thrift stores around the Triangle that deserve some love, too! 🤎

Here are Goodwill alternatives around Apex, Cary & Raleigh to shop AND donate at!

These pictures…. Made me want to change my weekend plans 🤤

Between hearing about lab-grown chicken, 3D printed steak, and questions about how our beef is sourced… investing in farm-to-table restaurants and supporting local farmers is never a bad idea. 🌱🥩

Here are 5 farm-to-table restaurants to check out around Apex, Cary & Raleigh, NC! Save this for your next meal out. 🤎 by @thingstodordu

I expected to spend WAY more at the fair this year!! Look at prices, compare and make sure to get what you want while you’re there!

A few tips:

- put Carter Finley football stadium, state fair or any Lenovo or properties for free parking! There was plenty of available when we went! Don’t get robbed by the $40-$50 parking!

- I would not recommend bringing a stroller, carry that baby and keep your hands-free! It looked like people were fighting for their lives with the stroller in the fair and most of the time still carrying the baby😂

- bringing cash helped us not overspend! The vendor seemed to prefer it as well

- bring snacks for the baby if you don’t want them eating the fair food

Your sign to get a lil treat today 🎂🍪🍩🍰🧁

I’m honestly not a big sweets person, but when I want a lil treat, it needs to be worth the money, moist, and made with love!

These are my FAVORITE places to get dessert, plus a frozen treat spot I want to try 🍧

Save these to try when you’re driving around! by @thingstodordu

Just a few coffee shops in Raleigh that make their syrups in-house ☕️🍯

I know this isn’t all of them - but how blessed are we that we get such a great selection of coffee shops to choose from! Thinking I’m going to make a guide for Cary, Holly Springs, and Apex eventually 🧡

I truly cannot believe we are halfway through October!! I feel like I’ve just been in denial and am not finally getting in to all the fall festivities and pumpkin lattes. 🍵 and now I can’t get enough! 🍂🧡

Duke’s Harvest Festival is tomorrow (Sunday), and if you don’t have plans I know this is going to be a great event! Can’t wait to see the recap footage!

Wanted to share this list for anyone who doesn’t participate Halloween, and wants to be involved in celebrating the fall season! 4 of these events are on October 31st if you’re looking to get out of the house and have a lovely Saturday evening! Many of these events are free!

Share any I missed!! 👇 by @thingstodordu

It’s always a good time to add new authors to your personal TBR library!

I love being able to support local authors, with these they have an amazing storytelling and most are faith based! ✝️💚 by @thingstodordu

I did some research and wanted to share! I’m SURE I missed some, so PLEASE let me know if you have any I need to look in to!

Becoming a mom made me realize how much my schedule was going to need to adjust.

Some I’ve personally tried, and others are still on my list! Make sure to check each location’s childcare hours, minimum age requirements, and membership costs before joining.

Because taking care of yourself matters, too. 🫶🏼

We needed to get out of the house, reset, and change the scenery for everyone. 🫶

So we walked around Fenton, watched the fountain, looked at the hanging lights, and took in all the little things that caught his attention.

You could easily grab a drink and stroll around, stop for appetizers, or let the kids run around in the open field. There’s also a large bathroom with changing tables, which makes it a convenient spot for families.

Sometimes getting out of the house is less about having a plan and more about creating a little space to breathe together. 🤍

A little reminder that you don’t always need a big activity or spend money out to make an evening feel special! by @thingstodordu

Since calling the triangle home, I’ve tried a lot of matcha spots and wasted too much money on oxidized dusty green powder being labeled as matcha 🫠 learning to make matcha at home is a game changer, but paying for quality curated matcha is worth it in my opinion!

💚matcha spots I want to try, and hope to add to this fav spots list:
