Whether you’re looking for something cozy and magical or dark and mysterious, these are some of my favorite reads to get you in the spooky season spirit!

QOTD: What’s a book or series that gives you all the spooky season vibes? 🖤🍂 I’m always looking for more recommendations to add to my never-ending TBR!

A cozy afternoon, a chunky blanket in the making, and a very dedicated (but slightly judgmental) supervisor. 🧶🐾🌿

Slow days like these are my favorite. 🤍

QOTD: What’s your favorite way to spend a cozy afternoon? Are you reaching for a book, a craft project, or a comfort show? 🧶📖☕

📍 Twisted Bookstore | Newton, KS 📚✨

I absolutely adore this bookstore! From the cozy, moody atmosphere to the adorable themed rooms, every little corner feels like it was made for book lovers. 🥹📖

The kind of bookstore you walk into for a quick browse and end up wanting to stay for hours.

Have you ever visited a bookstore that felt like it belonged in a storybook? 🫶 taken in Newton, Kansas by @thingsyoualmostmissed

A physical book girlie entering her Kindle era. 🕯️📖✨

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for physical books, but sometimes a little change of pace is needed! 🥹

Feeling so spoiled with my new Kindle, and I have to admit, I’m already loving it more than I expected. 🤍

My very first Kindle read is The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better book to break it in with. 🐍🌹

Physical books will always have my heart, but I think there’s room for both in my reading life.

Are you team Kindle, team physical books, or both? 📚✨

12/10 series 🐉🗡️❤️‍🔥

Some books are unforgettable, but this series? It has an entire piece of my heart. The characters, the dragons, the heartbreak, the plot twists, the emotional damage… EVERYTHING.

I would give anything to experience these books for the first time again. And yes, I’m still emotionally recovering from Onyx Storm. 🥲

Forever wishing I could go back to Basgiath for the first time. ⚔️

@rebeccayarros you’re a god sent for writing this series

Which book in the Empyrean series has your heart? 📖💕

Everyone talks about how lucky you are to experience Harry Potter for the first time… but nobody talks about the emotional damage that comes with it. 😭⚡️

I already knew how Goblet of Fire ended, but knowing what happens and actually reading it are two VERY different experiences. 🥲

Anyway, I came for the magic and stayed for the emotional trauma. 🪄📖

💬 Which Harry Potter book hit you the hardest?

some books are good, some books are great, and then there are the ones that deserve every single one of those five stars. ⭐️📖✨

these are the books that have completely stolen my heart, kept me turning pages, made me feel ALL the emotions, or left me thinking about them long after the final chapter. 🥹

and the year isn’t even over yet, so there’s still room for a few more favorites. 🤭

💌 have you read any of these? which books have earned five stars from you this year? i’m always looking for another addition to my TBR! 🫶

Experiencing the magic of Hogwarts for the very first time, and I finally understand why everyone fell in love with this world. 🥹🤎

Did you grow up reading Harry Potter, or are you a late bloomer like me? ⚡️

a little dystopia, a little heartbreak, a little murder mystery, and a little magic. 📖☕️✨

another week of reading absolutely everything because apparently having a favorite genre just isn’t my thing. 🤭

some books entertained me, some made me emotional, and one completely changed the way I look at the world. (looking at you, Fahrenheit 451 👀)

the best part about being an everything reader? you never really know what you’re getting into next. 🫶

💌 are you an everything reader too, or do you have a genre you always come back to?

a week of banned books, independent bookstores, and stories worth talking about. 📚✨

in honor of Banned Books Week, I spent my week reading three challenged books:

📖 Fahrenheit 451 by @raybradburyofficial
📖 Looking for Alaska @johngreenwritesbooks
📖 The Perks of Being a Wallflower by @chboskys

three five-star reads that reminded me just how powerful storytelling can be.

I also made a point to visit two of Wichita’s independent bookstores, @watermarkbooksandcafe and @finaldraftbooks , both of which celebrated the freedom to read. 🫶🏼

there’s something incredibly special about walking into a bookstore and seeing stories that have been challenged being proudly displayed instead of hidden away.

books aren’t always supposed to make us comfortable. they’re supposed to make us think, question, empathize, and sometimes even challenge what we believe.

here’s to protecting the freedom to read, supporting our local bookstores, and keeping stories accessible to everyone. 🕯️

what’s one banned or challenged book you think everyone should read?

This week’s reads, in honor of Banned Books Week 📚✨

A little mystery, a little magic, some coming-of-age heartbreak, and a dystopian classic that feels a little too relevant.

Five books, five very different stories, and a reminder of why literature should never be limited to what’s comfortable.

Here’s to reading widely, questioning everything, and celebrating the freedom to read. 🕯️

💌 Have you read any of these? Which book has left the biggest impression on you?
