My friend and I started a school in our living room 11 years ago. After 1000+ events, we now have our dream space in Prospect Heights and we have professors and therapists teaching in-depth seminars on everything from the Odyssey to creativity and shadow work and family mapping.

Check out our schedule and join us for an upcoming four-part deep dive with a professor and a new group of friends. by @think.olio

We've had our venue for about 6 months now and we're learning a lot.

It's great for film nights, great for parties, and our lectures, or olios as we call them, are still our bread and butter.

Obviously it's a lot of work running a small diy venue in Brooklyn, and sometimes it feels like we must have reached new levels of delusional to even be doing this at all. Then at every event we're reminded that our members are the best ppl in NYC and it really feels like we are all in this together.

Come through the Lighthouse sometime and see what it's all about. by @think.olio

DM us if you’re interested in joining Olio in Guatemala. January 15-22 🌸 In 2024, Antigua became an extension of the Olio ecosystem.

That year we spent a month in Guatemala running two OlioTrips, and our favorite part (besides swimming in Lake Atitlán) was how our group got the chance to connect and bond with locals: the artists, musicians, business owners, and teachers we met along the way, the house parties and homestyle dinners we were welcomed into.

We’re tied in with friends who run venues and community projects similar to Olio, and we’ve stayed in touch since the last trip. Those friends are onto all kinds of new projects, and they’ve told us that when we come back, this trip will be even better than the last.

Nothing leaves us more recharged and inspired than time in Antigua, followed by the quiet integration that Lake Atitlán offers. Our last trip there is what inspired us to open our own venue, and we think it’s time that Olio goes back to Guatemala. by @think.olio

Smile Dog wants you to join my creepypasta horror writing workshop! Once a week in person at Olio, we'll spend the first hour dissecting some of the best creepypastas and the second hour workshopping our own horror stories. 🖤 As someone who grew up listening to Mr Creepypasta and reading Jeff the Killer fan fics, I'm beyond excited to approach these stories from a literary angle. If you've never heard of a creepypasta, now's the time! Writers of all levels welcome. Sign up link and more info in bio 🖤 Thanks to the talented @merxcer for her iconic collage art! taken in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn by @think.olio

Whether you're looking for new friends, lovers, or someone with a boat, we're here to make it happen for you. One of our favorite parts of running Olio (a miscellaneous collection of art + people) is making connections between our members based on their niche hobbies, interests, or that certain je ne sais quoi. Become a member to join the party, and you'll enter a whole new world of connections before the DJ even starts their set. by @think.olio

Maybe our most popular Olio since we opened the space in November was @justinewolfwilliamspresents teaching - The Power of Play and Imagination.

We’re soo hyped to have her back at Olio but this time for 4 weeks in a row!

From Inner Critic to Inner Ally: Myth, Play, and Shadow Work 🪄In this four-week Olio, we’ll draw from Jungian psychology, mythology, creativity studies, and contemplative practice to get curious about the critical voices that accompany creative life.we’ll gather an intimate group to spend four weeks transforming our relationship with creativity and with the inner critic that so often shapes it.
