One of the many reasons this show deserves to be captured for future audiences is that it is overwhelmingly joyous. This show is about a group of people who were ostracized from society, created their own community, and found a way to make themselves icons. That’s a beautiful and powerful message: that just because you don’t fit the mold, doesn’t mean you can’t be a star on a catwalk.

I am committed to the but that’s for sure as we only have a few days left to advocate that @pbs and @pbsgreatperformances get a proshot of @catsjellicleball. Is it unlikely to happen? Propbaly. Have more unbelievable things happened? I’d say so.

BUT we need to keep tagging @pbs and @pbsgreatperformances to get @catsjellicleball a proshot. This show is historic in that it completely reimagines Cats in the Harlem Ballroom scene. This is theatre history, this is black history, this is queer history, and this is ultimately American history. This show is a bright shining gem that deserves and NEEDS to be preserved for future generations to see. As always with these posts, I know the it is unlikely this will happen. However at least we tried and maybe this advocacy will open doors in other ways like a cast album? 💿 An off Broadway transfer? 🎭 A West End production? 🇬🇧💂A national tour? 🚙🚚🚛Who knows what impact we could have from speaking up about the importance of Jellicle Ball. Thank you all for your support and help, but this does not mean we can relax. Keep tagging PBS, keep sharing these videos, and also make your own videos regularly! This show is so special and deserves to be preserved for future generations to be seen. Again, I do realize how many wild things would have to happen in order to get this to happen. I’m not that delusional, but I am delusional enough to make silly videos on the internet for a cause I think is important. What do I have to lose? Just sugar and flour. Long my she reign! Diana runs until July 20 at @theoubiquecabaret and I cannot recommend it enough. This show was a joy and so moving. Truly will miss this production when it closes
