2025 was a captivating year for Third Draft Theatre, featuring dozens of emerging and local artists and countless stories of fantasy, fairytale, and dreams.

💥 TDT’s “I Am Not Batman” by Marco Rameriz (winner of the 2024 Calgary One Act Play Festival!) made its comeback at the Fire & Foes Cabaret.

💥 TDT produced The Fire & Foes Cabaret! Featuring a variety of heroes and villains, and dozens of artists with new, bold, and fresh acts.

💥 TDT partnered with The Stargazer Initiative to share a special staged reading of a new episode of the podcast! @stargazerinitiative

💥 TDT took Nathan Crockett’s The Other went to the Kelowna Fringe festival back in March, and took home Runner Up for Best Ensemble Performance at the festival! @theothershowofficial

💥 Rounding out the year, TDT performed a new staged reading of the Romantasy Project by Ali Grams at the Commonground Festival! @commongroundfestivalyyc

We can’t wait to share more fantasies, fairytales, and dreams with you in 2026!

What is the Romantasy Project?

💖 An homage to the genre of “Romantasy”, Third Draft Theatre gives you a fantasy to sweep you off your feet. When two heroines from separate fantastical worlds are plunged into a purgatory darkness, they must discover how to wield not only their respective magic powers, but also their inner strength and self-mastery, in order to save two universes. With only an overhead projector and the legends of old, these heroines explore the intersections of romantic ideals and fantastic reality in a new staged reading that will leave you burning for more.
