✿ 𝟑𝟏𝟑 ✿ as bill + i conclude our third week in our new location, it’s hard to find the words (and the time!) to convey just how worth it it’s already been for us both. our quality of life has skyrocketed, and even with all the construction happening around us outside + a broken rib (i don’t wanna talk about it 😂)— it’s hard not to think of all the upsides.Rock Island is putting in the work to make downtown a more fun and inviting place to be, and i’m so excited i am here in such an up + coming time :) thank you so much to all the folx who have made third hand what it is in the past year + a half. i literally have my lil dream space now and i could not have done it without your support + kindness. this community is everything. grand opening shindig tbd— can’t wait to celebrate this with you all313 18th st in Rock Islandstop by anytime ✿ by @thirdhandsalon

had so much fun yesterday teaching my first in•salon class at @noveltysalon! these girlies are so chill + made it so easy to rip the band•aid + do the dang thing 🥳these friends learned how i like to cut + hand style a curly shag with a razor (+ of course all my fav @cultandking prods)— and i remembered how amazing it is to have these ongoing conversations between stylists + that just when i start to miss a little of that camaraderie working in a private studio, i get to relive it by making friends with other stylists hanging out in their cute spaces once in a while :)thank you to all the folks that joined me while i got to makeover queen @ma.ddieanderson gorg curls + waves! special thank you to my bestie @anna_stamer (and some of the class goers!) for taking some photos + videos for me in my flow state 🌀 Novelty has newly rebranded as a take•a•book // leave•a•book // spruce•yo•look salon space and i am obsessed with it! i left with a whole handful of new friends to refer my new color requests to!already planning on doing this more often, if you or your salon would like to book some education time with me, hit me up because this was funnn 🌼swipe to the end for Maddie’s cute selfies after the humidity hit her hair walking home (it got even better??) and also her new bad biii tool 😂 ⚔️ by @thirdhandsalon

yesterday, i went to Muscatine to meet my friend + esthetics extraordinaire @eclectic.estheticsss for coffee and a thrift, but it ended up being much more than that. we were supporting as many downtown Muscatine businesses as possible during our hang because a lot of them are struggling right now having to close due to issues with structural integrity of some of the downtown buildings.this is a call for anyone seeing this who has access to trailers, boxes, hands and/or time to help our friends in Muscatine who need us right now. while we were shopping to support some of the businesses that were able to continue being open yesterday, there were other business owners who are not so lucky that were frantically clearing inventory and fixtures out of their buildings during absolute downpour. others who are residents of these buildings, had to move out as many of their personal belongings as possible, some of which not knowing where it will even go once it’s out.please consider helping these neighbors however you might be able to. i’ve been in this community a long time, and i know how good everyone in it is. we truly never know when things might turn around for us, good or bad. let’s do our best to take care of one another. 🫂 by @thirdhandsalon

HUGE thank you to my incredible girlfriend, Maggie + the rest of the team over at @restoreqc for helping me find a perfect ramp to help keep things as accessible as possible here at third hand :)if you haven’t heard of @habitatquadcities— they are a local non profit resale shop where you can find anything you need to fix or furnish your home, all while giving back to an amazing organization that helps build quality homes for those who need them most 🤍as my girlfriend says, it’s like Goodwill and Menards combined 🙃 they also have a very cool “health + home” section that not a lot of folks know about, where you can find affordable used medical and accessibility supplies like this ramp! by @thirdhandsalon
