One from the vaults here. A couple of years ago, I took a couple of big bags of records over to @thirdspacebtn flat. The hazy springtime sun shone through, we hit record, played records whilst chatting about music.

The result is an excellent mix of genres; ambient, jazz, folk, dub, a perfect soundtrack to any morning!

@thirdspacebtn is one of my favourite people to play records with, such an incredible collection and knowledge of music. However, my Discogs wantlist grows each time.

The final commute of 2024, a fitting excursion from Brighton’s @thirdspacebtn .

long standing @1btnradio resident, Ross has been on the commute for many years.

His show of the same name has been a go to option to unwind from the vicissitudes life can throw our way. On a Monday evening @thirdspacebtn often easing the listener into the more subtle realms he likes to present.

A purveyor of sound from far and wide, Ross’s knowledge, passion and composure shines brightly. A natural collaborator, Ross regularly invites many of Brightons deejays and collectives to share space on his show, bringing a much needed community spirit back to the coastal city.

Ross now manages and curates the music on offer at @the_well_brighton , equipped with 4 kilpsch Hersey IVs, fine drinks, it’s well worth a visit.

Here we have a masterful flow on display, from a seriously underrated deejay.

Thank you to all that joined the commute this year, it’s a been a pleasure. See you in ‘25 for the next leg.

Link in the normal spot.

Enjoy!

Last month I was fortunate enough to share the booth with the mighty Dub Athlete, going track for track at a slightly different pace to her usual, live from the 1BTN studio.

Over the course of two hours, we meandered through a melting pot of laid back sounds. Keeping the on air chat to a minimum, allowing the tunes to breathe as intended.

Sophie's an absolute 💎 doing some amazing things for the Brighton scene. From her @fortune.sessions night, to laying down countless amazing sets for other local heroes such as @bbg_brighton @darkrooms_uk & @themineuk

It was an absolute blessing to have the opportunity to do a b2b like this with her, thank you for the lovely selections, wholesome chats and immaculate vibes.

It feels surreal to think that four years have passed since we opened our doors. Yesterday, on the eve of our birthday, we received the keys to our new spot in Hove and we are absolutely buzzing.

To celebrate this milestone, our exciting news and pride, we’ll have some of the finest selectors gracing the shop next Saturday, including our very own @thirdspacebtn - No tickets, everyone welcome. Happy Pride, Happy Birthday Us! by @thirdspacebtn

This weekend catch me at a couple of great local spots:

Friday evening I'll be playing grooves at the @fortuneofwar from 22:30 for @standup_brighton alongside @___oren.dj @yum.ger @petergrand.music & @danjohnfrazer

Saturday evening I'll be returning to the wonderful @voya_brighton to soundtrack the service from 19:00 and ease in the birthday celebrations of the one and only @set_and_settings_w_jd what an honour

Say hi if you come down, have a lovely weekend wherever you end up 💞💞💞 by @thirdspacebtn
