Sharing Sunday! Final photo and details of my Eren Jaeger watercolor painting, plus some process pics at the end.
Ive been wanting to do an Attack on Titan painting for a while, and was trying to figure out how to do it in my style. I went back and forth if I wanted to make something gritty or pretty, and ultimately decided on a Mucha inspired art nouveau watercolor. Y’all know how I love playing with subject tone and art style!

It’s always a pleasure to see you sauntering over 🥴

I’ve been burning the candle on both ends a bit to get this painting finished up and to the printers, but here it is!

Funny story, I was out for a friend’s birthday this weekend and my husband was off mingling —and someone asked him, “Have you played Baldur’s Gate?” His response was, “You have to talk to my wife…” Then, as though summoned like Beetlejuice, I appeared and told them all about what happens when you kick ascended Astarion in the balls. I’m a hoot at parties.

Anyway— this painting is acrylic on canvas. Enjoy!

Jackie has been on my easel since August, but I’ve finally finished! Since theatre work has been practically non-existent, I wanted to do a little trompe l’oeil painting just to practice. And when you’re painting Jackie Daytona, you can do whatever you want because you change lives.
Acrylic on canvas.

Tina did, in fact, have a crap attack.
Heard a crash from the other room and found Tina on the floor. Guess I’ll just have to find a new favorite mug. by @thirtyartsix

Better late than never!! But FINALLY got my Patricia watercolor painting finished! I decided to accent it with ink this time around so that was scary…and I definitely did not have to run with a few unanticipated hiccups in the process…..
But anyway, it’s spooky season now so I think it’s an appropriate time for a Widow’s Bay rewatch! by @thirtyartsix

Went to King Richard’s Faire this weekend with my fav adventuring party! And I left an Astarion pin with my wish on the yarn thing, so that means it’s definitely coming true, right?! taken in King Richard's Faire by @thirtyartsix

This year has been exhausting so far and unfinished Patricia has been silently judging me from across the room. But I had a thought to make a “punch stain” so I mixed up some watery gouache and just poured it on…so I guess we wait and see how it dries!!

While I’m often meticulous about planning, a lot of times I make impulsive gut decisions…especially when I feel stalled. My plans often become a dialogue with the work where I’m asking “What do you need??” and “What am I capable of giving at this time?” So this little act of progress is what I can do right now and so we wait and see how it turns out and where we go from there! by @thirtyartsix

Thanks everyone that stopped by my table at Granite State Comic Con this weekend! Lucky us made good time packing up to leave and then we realized we had a flat tire! So yeah, we had to unpack everything in the back to get to the spare tire and do it all again. At least we were in the parking garage and not out in the rain! Definitely treating ourselves to a special takeout meal tonight!!

Thank you sergeii_tattoo for working with me and giving me such a beautiful tattoo!

I watched Attack on Titan at the same time I was reading The Artist’s Way and some real synchronicity hit. When I got to the episode with Eren’s first transformation, I was at the chapter about “Recovering a Sense of Power”:

“Anger is meant to be listened to. Anger is a voice, a shout, a plea, a demand. Anger is meant to be respected. Why? Because anger is a map. Anger shows us what our boundaries are. Anger shows us where we want to go. It lets us see where we’ve been and lets us know when we haven’t liked it. Anger points the way, not just the finger. In the recovery of a blocked artist, anger is a sign of health…
Anger is the firestorm that signals the death of our old life. Anger is the fuel that propels us into our new one. Anger is a tool, not a master. Anger is meant to be tapped into and drawn upon. Used properly, anger is useful.” by @thirtyartsix
