@joeyjohnston_ last year when the waves were on fire for a few weeks. Wish I was a few yards further in to see him fully encapsulated in mother barrel. Seems like it's been like this only a handful of days this year which means surf trip this summer. by @this__is__daniel

December 1 2020 still probably the nuttiest swimming experience I have ever had out there. Building swell with the next day going pretty much XXL like 17ft @ 18 seconds. I remember being scared initially but realized I could get in and out in between the sets, the wave was starting to break with these occasional insane backwash flares a little further out and then would detonate onto the sand. I put myself somewhere in between those 2 zones and would swim out by the rocks until the current took me too far towards Log Cabins, get out and repeat. The swell continued to build and the sets became VERY consistent. When I was getting out the waves were pretty much coming up into the dunes and vegetation. There was easily 200 -300 people on the beach watching the spectacle as @noahbeschen here and the boys were charging suicide barrels. After everyone got out I remember trying to get out and got tripped up by a wave rushing up the beach, it sucked me back into the pit and a legit 8ft bomb exploded right on top of me, I remember thinking this could get really bad but it ended up not being so, I was able to get out and far enough up the sand where I felt safe from getting sucked back out and finally took off my fins. by @this__is__daniel

The Narrows in Zion National Park is one of the best hikes in the whole national park system, without a doubt. The entire trail through the canyon is around 20 miles although we just did a shorter out and back to the "Wall Street" section pictured here, where the slot canyon comes to it's narrowest while the canyon walls remain completely vertical. There is something really awesome about doing it in the winter, when the water is barely above freezing, there's snow everywhere and you may only see a few groups of people the entire time you're hiking. by @this__is__daniel
