Time in Body & This Combobulation Association team up to present This Body Time Combobulation. Tickets live now on RA 🖤

Happening in Dublin's most punkest venue, Mono's Bar in Dalymount. We are absolutely stoked with the line up for this one. It's going to be another epic night in Bohs.

Featuring:
ZKELLIES (Live) (APT Records)
Maeve O'Neill
Richard B. (Industrial Lies)

ZKELLIES
ZKELLIES perform live techno played by hand & foot. It is music for dancing.

The ZKELLIES show is an attempt to perform techno music according to Steve Reich's principle of "no hidden structural devices". To this end, ZKELLIES utilise no backing tracks. No sequencers. No click track.

Longtime Irish underground music stalwart Andy Connolly (Naive Ted, Unscene) has enlisted the renowned pair of Dan Walsh (Fixity) & Killian Barton (Bill Karnation) to create a series of short musical phrases designed to be played by two drummers, moving between these phrases in the same way as a DJ builds a set, performing a perceived "faithful" version of loop-based, dancefloor focussed, techno music.

This particular strand of techno is traditionally created with sequencers controlling synthesizers & samplers. ZKELLIES is an attempt to take the sequencer out of the equation.

Though the music is semi-improvised & experimental in nature, there is no wish to subvert the norms of the techno space, only a desire to perform the music respectfully & in a different way.

It is music for dancing.

Maeve O'Neill
Renowned Irish electronic DJ known for relentless energy, hypnotic rhythms and expert use of acid lines. Has shared lineups with Eliza, Lolz, Gesloten Cirkel and ELLLL.

Richard B
30 years in electronic music, including 20+ years as techno editor at DJ Mag. Founder of First Cut and Industrial Lies. His vinyl sets range from new wave and Italo disco to jacking acid and raw Hague bangers. by @thiscombobulationassociation

Very exited to hear what Richard B brings to Bohs. He is such a good selector and dj. Our bodies ad minds are in for a treat. Perfect music for body time combobulation. The clip is from the track Mindcontrol by Ingo Hammer released on Richard's own label Industrial Lies.

Richard B has been involved with electronic music for 30 years. He worked as a music journalist from 1996 to 2020, writing for Irish and international outlets including Hot Press, Juno Plus, Resident Advisor and most notably at DJ Mag - where he was techno editor for over 20 years. He has interviewed artists such as Drexciya, Jeff Mills, Underworld, Robert Hood, Depeche Mode, Dave Clarke, Juan Atkins, Surgeon, Silent Servant, Regis, Carl Craig etc.

Richard was a resident DJ at Test, the night that brought acts like Sleeparchive, Redshape, Sandwell District and Dopplereffekt to Dublin.

In 2016, he set up First Cut( @first_cut_records ) a vinyl label dedicated to showcasing emerging techno, house and electro talent from Ireland, with releases from Giles Armstrong, Defekt, Tr-One, Lerosa and Reflection Port Assembly.

In 2024, he established Industrial Lies. Named after the B-side of Cybotron's 'Clear', the label platforms Chicago house, ebm, industrial and new beat-inspired music. Releases to date have come from Der Strom, Poseidon84 and Ingo Hammer.

A lifelong record collector, Richard's vinyl sets are across the board, from new wave and Italo Disco to jacking acid tracks and raw Hague bangers. by @thiscombobulationassociation

Still buzzing after the spectacular Dancefloor Malfunction night in Bohs on Saturday. I can't really believe what a good night it was. Sometimes when you have been planning something for a while it can feel a bit anticlimactic.
But not Saturday it exceeded all expectations. It was the best energy i've felt at a gig in quite a while.
The music from beginning to end was absolutely outstanding. @poynting_ played a top class opening set to get the night rolling. @galwegianbelacqua played a blinder and treated us to an hour and a half of exquisite bangers of the kind that only he can make, delivered as usual with his signature panache.
@arrok_brian blew us all away amazingly accomplished tunes, played so well for his first gig. 🤯🤯
Athe man himself @ancientmethods almost lifted the roof off the place. A proper demolition job.He was so good and such a pleasure to deal with.

Big thanks to @jonezy_riseup, the best person you could work with. He makes everything so easy..I've never heard the riseup sound so good. The sound was amazing.
Thanks to Peter and Tadgh for doing the door. Thanks to the staff at Bohs for keeping the drinks flowing and for being so sound. Thanks to Clara at @acheronagency

And of course thanks to everybody who came along and joined in the party. You all made it such a special night. The vibes and atmosphere was kind of indescribable. Its definitely one for the books. My best night in Bohs yet.

Meanwhile we're hatching plans....... by @thiscombobulationassociation

Starting to get excited now for next week. Been thinking a lot about @ancientmethods remixes this week.

AM has mixed some of my favourite tracks from the industrial music of Bourbonese Qualk, the new wave synth electro of Yello,
Powell’s Club music and the power disco nonsense of Fancy. AM has the gift of taking these diverse genres and transforming them into his pitch black techno war funk, sometimes dark and industrial, sometimes playful. He always creates something new while keeping the soul and the spirit of the originals.

Here are six of my favourites:-
Bourbonese Qualk -Lies
Yello - Bostiche
Powell -Club Music
Acetic - Everything is Becoming
JK Flesh - PI11.2
Fancy - Slice me Nice by @thiscombobulationassociation

Its Finally Ancient Methods Week.

We could not be more excited to be bringing @ancientmethods back to Dublin - it's been 17 years since they played Dublin. Last time being 2009, for the infamous and final DEAF as part of @sunilsharpe Earwiggle label/night at Andrew's Lane Theatre. A night that has been ingrained in people's memory. Later, they remixed WHOK's "Comminute" on Earwiggle, an 11min slo-mo gnarly tune with that distinctive AM stamp (slide 1)

Since then, it's been consistent, quality-over-quantity releases on aufnahme + wiedergabe, Umwelt's Rave or Die(slide 2), and Hands Productions to name a few. However, it's their own label Persephonic Sirens where the conceptual layers of ideas and influences really come through. Ancient Methods has spoken about how the books accompanying that process play a great role, with existentialist literature shaping "The Second Siren." Dig further and there are deliberate hidden links, buried code - the "Seventh Seal" (slide 3) release nodding toward Bergman, one possible read among several, and the most recent nod to Guy Debord's "Society of the Spectacle." (slide 4). The tracks and the artwork both feel rooted in mythology, with no guide manual or need to over-explain.

AM has certainly never compromised their sound just to fit in, staying very much true to their ethos -  evident in their radio show "Lightvessel Transmissions," showcasing stuff and guests that fly under the radar. Do check it out; past guests include one of our favourites, "Night in Athens" and "Dollkraut" and many more.

However intense and machine-like their sets are, there is always a fearsome human element to them, with samples of indecipherable vocals - the Ancient Methods × Black Egg Ohne Hände remixes being a standout example - always keeping you on your toes!"(slide 5)
We are counting the days for this in Bohs on Saturday, joined by @galwegianbelacqua , @arrok_brian and @poynting_

Just over a week to go to this historic (and sold out) gig in Bohs and we are super excited already.

Getting the part started next week with his weapons of dancefloor malfunction will be Poynting (@poynting_)

Poynting is a DJ and community radio volunteer with ddr., where he hosts the monthly show Radio Frequency Interference (RFI).

His selections traverse electro, EBM, electroclash and techno.

Alongside his radio work, he has helped facilitate community initiatives including ddr.'s Pride special Queering the Airwaves.

Looking forward to see what he brings in his bag to Bohs by @thiscombobulationassociation
