The Black Country Living Museum’s 1940s Weekend, photographed on film using cameras from the period.

This set includes performances from the Kalamazoo Dance Band @kalvaikla, @jaynedarling and @thebluebirdbelles, alongside a gentleman who was kind enough to stop and pose with his folding camera. If anyone recognises him, please tag him in the comments. He was great fun to photograph, an excellent model, and this is exactly the more cinema feel image I prefer and love to make.

Every frame was shot on a different black-and-white film from the Noir range by @thisis_howiroll, then developed and scanned at my own @theliquidlightlab. Where else?

VISION3 50D isn't an obvious concert choice. Low speed film, heavy contrast, moving performers, stage haze, intense spotlights and deep shadow usually push people towards faster stock.

Shot by the talented @kulwant.s.marway on the AHU version of Kodak VISION3 50D, supplied by @thisis_howiroll, this photo shows what happens when the exposure is solid and the film is developed and scanned with the file quality it deserves.

Bath Film Photowalk: Portraits, Posing and Portfolio Building

Join This is How I Roll Film, Liquid Light Whisperer & Liquid Light Lab for a structured film photowalk through Bath, working with Olga - @darkhorseheart - as the model and using the city’s stonework, streets and architecture as part of the frame.

This is for beginner through to photographers who want to build stronger portraits on film, improve how they work with a model, learn practical posing and subject direction, and add stronger images to their portfolio.

Your place includes practical tuition throughout the walk, model shooting, three rolls of film supplied on the day, development, scanning and return of your negatives.
