I spent years treating the life I wanted as something I’d eventually grow into, rather than something I could choose. Like one day I’d wake up feeling certain enough, brave enough, deserving enough, and then everything would fall into place from there.

But the older I get, the more I realise most big changes don’t happen because you suddenly feel ready for them. They happen because eventually the discomfort of ignoring what you want starts outweighing the fear of doing something about it. taken in London, United Kingdom by @thisisamymorgan

I used to think that becoming yourself would happen in one go, like one day a switch would flip and *BAM*. There you are. But the reality is more like hundreds of little evolutions you don’t always notice happening.

I’ve met so many different versions of myself over the years. Some I barely recognise now, some I miss a bit, and some carried me through things I didn’t think I’d survive at the time. But I think that’s the weird beauty of growing older. You don’t just become one person. You become many. One after another, and somehow the hundreds of different versions still all belong to you. taken in London, United Kingdom by @thisisamymorgan

What’s your story?

I was asked this recently. In a pub, with a slice of pizza in my hand, by people I’d just met... And my mind went completely blank.

Because to me, “what’s your story?” feels like it’s asking for something finished. And “I don’t really know how I got here, I just focused on the next step, stayed positive despite being given a shit hand sometimes, and somehow between that and the kindness of people guiding me along the way, I’ve created this big, beautiful life” doesn’t really feel finished at all.

Anyway. It’s been a while since I’ve written something for my blog, but my goal this year is to do more of that. So I poured out my thoughts over there.

Literally just posting this because I found these PJs in Sainsbury’s a few weeks ago and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since. 100% cotton. £20. Comfy AF. Ok bye x taken in City of London by @thisisamymorgan

A pre-Christmas trip to Màlaga for the city’s marathon (observed, not attempted) turned into a great reminder of how wrong assumptions can be.

I’d expected a destination geared toward package tourism, but instead found a city that felt genuinely charming for a few days away—and that’s not just the €4 wine talking 👀

Excellent food, a noticeable local feel (even with the marathon crowds), kind December weather (wind warnings included), and the sort of streets where getting lost feels like part of the plan rather than a mistake. taken in Málaga, Spain by @thisisamymorgan

A Michelin-star meal for under £6?
Obviously, I had to try it.

Not that I ever need convincing when noodles are involved.

This particular bowl came from Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle—a family-run stall that’s been cooking up Bak Chor Mee since the 1930s, and holding a Michelin star since 2016.

I went for the Dry Pork Noodle: springy noodles slick with black vinegar and chilli paste, topped with minced pork, sliced pork, meatballs, pork liver, wontons... basically, all the pig. Plus a crispy slice of dried sole fish for crunch, with a little bowl of seafood broth on the side.

Was it my usual flavour choice?
Nope.

But was it cooked with thought, balance, and enough flavour to keep my chopsticks moving? Absolutely.

The bowl itself?
A solid 7/10.

The experience of finally trying something I’d had on my list for years? 10/10, would queue again. by @thisisamymorgan
