4 YEARS DOWN, FOREVER TO GO! 🤍💍

I genuinely find myself in awe of the last 5 years. One year of friendship and now FOUR years of marriage! 🥹❤️

We’ve laughed, cried, built businesses, prayed, faced challenges, and grown together. Through it all, one thing remains true: GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL! 🙌🏾

As we celebrate four years, here are 5 lessons marriage has taught us:

1️⃣ Mutual submission requires SERVICE. Marriage isn’t about control but serving one another, letting go of who we thought we should be, and embracing who God created us to become.

2️⃣ Be PATIENT with each other’s growth. We’re both still becoming who God called us to be. Growth requires grace, intentionality, and understanding. Don’t expect the finished product from someone God is still working on.

3️⃣ NEVER stop doing life together. Date, laugh, dream, build, and experience life together. Don’t get so caught up in the responsibilities of marriage that you forget to enjoy each other.

4️⃣ We’re PARTNERS, not enemies. It’s never me versus you. It’s US versus the problem. The goal isn’t to win an argument but for our marriage to win.

5️⃣ Community is NECESSARY, but discretion is WISDOM. Surround yourselves with people who support your covenant, while understanding that not everyone needs access to your marriage.

And this anniversary is EXTRA SPECIAL! 🥹❤️

This year, we celebrate not just as husband and wife but as MOMMY AND DADDY!

Our love literally produced a LIFE! 🥹 And what a beautiful blessing she is!

To my beautiful wife, thank you for growing, building, praying, and doing life with me. Watching you become a mother has given me another reason to fall in love with you.

Four years later, we’re still learning, still growing, and still choosing each other.

THE BEST IS STILL YET TO COME! ❤️

Imagine two HVAC business owners.

Both make $175,000 a year.
Both are married.
Both have 2 kids.
Both live in Georgia.

But one has a tax strategy…and one doesn’t.

NO STRATEGY:
He makes his money, files his taxes at the end of the year, and pays roughly $39,000 in taxes.

Nothing illegal. Nothing wrong.

He simply never created a plan for what to do with the money before tax season came.

WITH A STRATEGY:
Now imagine the same business owner:

• Uses the business write-offs he qualifies for
• Structures the business properly
• Pays himself strategically
• Puts money into retirement
• Uses an HSA for healthcare savings
• Properly employs family members when it makes sense
• Creates opportunities to build wealth for his kids
• Plans business purchases instead of randomly spending money for deductions

Now instead of roughly $39K going toward taxes, our example gets the current tax bill closer to $16,600 while also redirecting tens of thousands of dollars toward retirement, healthcare and family wealth.

That’s the difference.

Tax preparation asks:

“What happened last year?”

Tax strategy asks:

“What can we do BEFORE the year ends?”

Making more money is great.

But learning how to keep, protect and strategically use more of what you make is a completely different conversation.

Business owners, quick question:

Have you actually done any tax planning for 2026? 👀

And no, I don’t mean waiting until tax season to find write-offs.

Tax preparation looks backward. Tax strategy looks forward.

It means looking at your income, expenses, business structure, estimated taxes, and other opportunities before the year is over so you can make intentional moves while there’s still time.

For example, if your business had a strong year, the question shouldn’t be:

“What can I do now that it’s tax season?”

It should be:

“Based on where I’m projected to finish, what should I be doing before December 31?”

We weren’t perfect while courting, but we were intentional. ❤️

A lot of what protects our marriage today started with conversations we were willing to have BEFORE we said “I do.”

We established our non-negotiables early — Jesus, marriage, values, vision. We weren’t dating just to “see where it goes.” We were dating with the intention of discerning whether we could build a life together.

We gave our date nights a curfew because we knew sometimes wisdom looks like removing yourself from the opportunity to compromise.

We talked honestly about our sexual triggers and created boundaries around them — even choosing not to kiss because remaining pure before marriage mattered more to us than a temporary feeling.

We kept Christ at the center, not only by praying together, but by holding each other accountable to having our OWN relationship and personal time with God.

And lastly…we got REAL. About trauma. Insecurities. Family. Past experiences. Areas where we needed healing. We encouraged therapy, growth, and becoming healthier individually so we could become stronger together.

Courtship wasn’t about pretending to be the perfect couple.

It was about asking: “Can we build something that honors God and lasts?”

And almost 4 years into marriage, we’re still building. 🤍

Lately, I’ve found myself wrestling with the tension between stability and faith.

As a man, husband, father, and entrepreneur, there’s a real weight that comes with being called to provide. And sometimes that responsibility can make what feels “safe” look more attractive than what God actually said.

But the Lord has had to remind me: I am not the source. He is.

My responsibility is to be obedient, steward what He gives me, do the work, and trust Him with the outcome.

So I’m learning to acknowledge what I feel without allowing my feelings to become my truth.

And I believe that’s part of the call on us as men.

Address the fear. Address the doubt. Address the pressure. But don’t build a home there.

Get back to what God said and stand on it.

Be encouraged in your journey today, bro. 🙏🏾

Because earning six figures and waiting until tax season to start planning doesn’t make sense either.

July reminded me that life can’t just be about the work.

For a long time, I thought “growing up” meant letting go of the things I loved. I was told to grow up fast, so I did.

Now I’m learning to parent my inner child—bowling, chess, golf, the gun range, facials, traveling, and simply having FUN again.

And honestly, it’s making me a better man. A better husband. A better father.

You can be responsible AND enjoy your life. You can build the future while still enjoying the present.

July was about remembering to work hard… but don’t forget to LIVE. Here’s to August and beyond…🥂

Doing the “overtired dance” because when Alyssa is fighting her sleep, apparently Daddy has to become the entertainment. 😂💃🏽

Seven months in, and these are some of the little things I’ve learned to love most about her:

😂 The extremely focused face she makes when she’s pooping.
🤨 How she will mean-mug you until she has had enough time to feel you out.
😩 How she does not like surprises—please give her time to process!
🥰 How she genuinely enjoys her alone time and is perfectly content in her own company.
🥹 And my absolute favorite, how her entire face lights up when I come around the corner.

Every day, more of your personality shines through, and I fall in love with every serious face, every smile, and every little quirk.

Seven months of learning you, loving you, and doing whatever dance it takes to get you to sleep. 🤎

A lot of people think having a money plan means you can’t enjoy life.
