I don’t think a mother’s heart is ever truly prepared for a moment like this.

As I stood there holding my daughter’s hands on the day we celebrated her marriage, I was overwhelmed by every emotion a mama can possibly feel. Pride. Gratitude. Joy. Love. And just a little bit of that ache that comes from realizing how quickly the years have passed.

Because in my heart, she will always be my little girl.

I remember the days when she needed me for everything… the little moments, the growing-up years, the laughter, the tears, the lessons, and all the memories that somehow seem like they passed in the blink of an eye. And then suddenly, she was standing in front of me in a wedding dress, ready to begin a life of her own.

I looked at her and saw not only the beautiful bride she had become, but the little girl I had prayed for, loved, protected, and watched grow into an incredible woman.

I have never been more proud to be your mama.

Watching you marry the person you love was one of the greatest blessings of my life. But what made my heart even fuller was seeing the woman you have become—strong, loving, faithful, beautiful inside and out, and ready to take this next step.

There is something so bittersweet about realizing that the daughter I raised is now someone’s wife. I know I have to let go in ways I never imagined, but I also know I will never stop being your mama. No matter how old you get, no matter where life takes you, you will always have my hand to hold, my shoulder to lean on, my prayers covering you, and my heart completely and forever.

This picture will always be one of my most treasured memories.

My daughter. My heart. One of my greatest blessing.
