This year marks 25 years since my first official solo @kidmassive release as an artist. It’s been quite a journey. I’ve experienced incredible highs and some serious lows, travelled the world, made lifelong friendships and collected experiences that have shaped me for better and worse. The music industry today is very different from the one I entered 25 years ago. And over the years I’ve compared myself to others, doubted myself, followed trends and questioned where I fit. But today I have something far more valuable: clarity about WHY I still do it. These days I independently run a label @getdownrecordings with over 300 releases and @thisisdisqo , I produce music for myself and others, create production music and sample projects, DJ, book shows, manage multiple projects, create social content and design my own artwork and launching my own brand @danskofficial No management team. No booking agency. No production partner. No graphic designer. So why keep doing all of it? Because I LOVE what I do. Music is part of who I am. Creating gives me enormous pleasure and enriches my life. I may not be as popular as I once was, play the same level shows or make the same money, but none of that defines why I make music. I could chase the next trend, and then the one after that. But that would mean going against who I am. I love my music and what it represents. I’ll continue creating, supporting others and helping the next generation grow for as long as that love remains. And for anyone currently questioning their own path: look inward. The validation you’re searching for might not be out there. Trust yourself, trust your instincts and remember why you started. Sometimes that’s all you need to know where to go next. by @thisisdisqo
