Happy Father’s Day to my dad, “Senior”, my grandads Papa Billy and Papa Bobby, and all of my brothers.

I love you all. We are because of the strength to “be” that flows through our bloodline: strength, resilience, faith, and legacy. To my brothers, I honor and recognize your tenacity to become the dream you’ve held for years and YOU ALREADY ARE what you are fighting to become! Just BE U.

This little lady brings me so much joy. Fatherhood is one of the greatest hoods I’ve ever been blessed to belong to. I’m grateful that God chose me to be a natural example of what He has been since before time: a loving, present, and faithful Father.

I love being a father, and I love being a godfather, affectionately known as “GoPa” by my Godkids. Today, I celebrate every father, including my own The Senior @jssigma, and father figure who shows up, sacrifices, guides, protects, and loves. And to all the new fathers, including my own baby brothers @zohndrxx and @_yayo1k: welcome in. You’re part of something special.

Community partnerships are not just beneficial, they are essential, especially for charter schools.

Today, I was humbled to be recognized by David Morgan and the team at FCS, but this moment is bigger than an award. It is a reminder of what can happen when organizations, advocates, educators, and community leaders come together to champion what is right for students and families.

For the past school year, we have worked diligently to bring attention to critical issues impacting charter schools, including ensuring that funding intended for students is distributed equitably and transparently. Partnerships like this provide more than support, they provide a voice. A voice willing to speak truth to power, advocate for fairness, and fight for opportunities that help our schools thrive.

I am grateful for David Morgan, FCS, and every partner committed to standing in the gap for children, families, and public charter schools. A huge shoutout to the PAC, SGA and my colleagues. The work continues, but together our impact is greater.

When advocacy meets action, students win.

🇰🇪 A journey I’ll never forget.

What began as a mission trip became a divine encounter.

This year, I celebrated my 43rd birthday in Kenya, serving alongside an amazing team, building relationships with incredible people, and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation and humanity in ways I never imagined. I learned new customs, new language, received a sign language name from students, and had the honor of sharing a message of hope that reached people from Kenya, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.

Somewhere between the outreach events, worship services, safari landscapes, laughter, and conversations, God reminded me who He is, and who I am.

I arrived ready to pour out, but God used this journey to affirm, restore, and reveal. For that, I am forever grateful.

Asante sana, Kenya. Until we meet again. ❤️🌍

2-days after my birthday I traveled on the Masai Mara Safari, I witnessed something words can barely describe.

To see the animal kingdom thriving in its natural habitat, to watch strength, survival, beauty, and the circle of life unfold before my eyes was both humbling and awe-inspiring.

What started 12 weeks ago as a commitment ended this weekend as a transformation.

I was stretched, challenged, and refined, but also equipped with wisdom, strategy, and a band of brothers who became family along the way.

Pinned by my mother, Elder Shawn (my rock, my friend, my example).

Witnessed by both my parents, which meant everything. My dad was sharper than sharp (as usual 🤞🏾and if I were his size, I’d take his suit, lol.)

This marks a new state of mind for me, a reimagining of who I am and am becoming.
