A dream, a vision for what could be was launched. At 55 years old, I had an idea. It lived somewhere at the intersection of glossy mags, hosting a community, and empowering women to continue becoming. It showed a version of midlife we had not yet seen.

I didn’t know exactly what it was, but I knew exactly who it served. I knew what it was not. And I knew the type of women I wanted to bring together—the interested and interesting ones who wanted to be intentional about this next chapter.

Now, at 58, I am grateful for the journey-the lessons learned and the community formed around our events, podcast and membership. And now it’s time to level everything up.

Midlife is complicated. It’s more than your hormones; it’s shifting roles, a thirst for purpose, and a desire to make the most of this stage of our lives. We are big believers that midlife is not a time to shrink; it’s a time to expand. But how?

On October 1, in DTLA, we will gather in together to access the experts and resources to help you navigate the road ahead and move into the richest years of your life. Think of the Liberty Road LIVE Summit as your GPS for midlife.

Each year, I pick a theme to focus on—it keeps the team and me intentional and connected by a common goal. At the risk of sounding cringy, this year, I was inspired by Harry’s (yes, we’re on a first-name basis) lyrics. This year’s summit is focused on “letting the light in…together.” So mark your calendars and grab your tickets because the best is yet to come!

What was I thinking?

Everything is hitting the fan this week. It’s what I signed up for. It’s what every entrepreneur signs up for. Your big idea is just the start—it’s not even the hard part. Lots of people have big ideas. It’s the little things, the really little things. The 1000 decisions that need to be made and the reasons you make those decisions. Because you believe that it’s worth it. You believe the work you're doing will serve someone else. It’s not a job, it’s a call. A call to serve something bigger than yourself. A call to help women see themselves as worthy—worthy of taking the time to pause and see where they’ve landed and where they want to go. A space and time to pause and realize there is less time ahead than has passed, but plenty of time to feel fulfilled. Plenty of time to feel like the reason they are on this planet is not over, and the need to discover what’s next lies within.

I wanted this to be a thoughtful video like my friends @welcometoheidi and @katyrexing put together. But I don’t feel cute today. It’s 7:00PM, and I don’t remember if I brushed my teeth. So I’ll post this picture that @kianascottphoto took a few months ago (when I did brush my teeth) and rant a little, because I want women to know WHY we do the work of the summit. It’s for you. Truly, it’s to support and scaffold you—because it’s what I wanted somebody to say to me, to show me. It’s not too late. We’ve got so much ahead. And here’s how we can do it. I built what I wanted. Isn’t that what every entrepreneur does?

We are one week away from the summit, and we’ve designed the whole day around YOU!

Take a day off from all your to-dos and schedule time to be intentional about all that’s ahead. Saying “it’s never too late” is nice, doing something about it is where the real change happens.

The official countdown to the summit has begun. 9 days until we gather together at The Revery in DTLA to consider all the ways we can continue to grow and keep evolving.

To say that we are excited to share some of our favorite experts, vendors, and brands with you is an understatement! But even more than all we’ve curated for you, it’s connecting you to a future lived with intention that lights us up!

This year is slightly different from years past. In addition to the panel and workshops, we have created four AMA tables where you’ll have one-on-one access to experts in midlife health, wellness, and mindfulness. We’ve also created more opportunities for organic connection. Think less networking and more finding your people.
