Debut album by @p00lgrl came out this week. It’s been a bit of a curvy road to get here but what an amazing piece of work. Allie, so proud of you for sticking to your gut. Grateful for letting me into your world and trusting me with your art.

Songs from the album Melancholic Beach Town I produced: Anecdote, I liked it, Something to Say, Someone, Frannie You’ll Be Alright!

A huge thanks to my partners in crime @benjabenja___ @mphazes @glitterpartyyy

For how amazing you were at cooking, you were equally as bad at golf. But none of it mattered. The glam of Beverly Hills never impressed you, in the same way the gutters of Venice never dissuaded you. In a city as big as Los Angeles, somehow you’d run into a friend everywhere we went. I think because when in your presence, it didn’t matter if someone was homeless or the president, the worker or the owner…you treated everyone exactly the same.

Our conversations were always more meaningful and deeper than I expected, whether it was about the sky beyond the sky or the seed that grew the corn which made the tortilla.

You had a million friends, but our friendship was different…because we were family. And there was always pride that came with that statement.

I hope there’s no more pain in whatever water in whatever world you’re bodysurfing in.

Love you, rest easy cousin. by @thisismichl

After all these years, my album is finally out. I think I held on to it for so long because it was mine and only mine. I could change it, rearrange it, add to it, subtract from it, destroy it, build it…without anyone’s say.

But now it’s no longer mine.

I don’t have a big label (or any label at that) that pays me to make music. Time is a privilege, and I was lucky enough to be given it by all of the people who have listened and shared my music.

It’s definitely not easy being an artist and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t tried turning my back to it. Not really sure what’s next, but for now, I hope the songs find you in some way.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to the love of my life @luisa_luther . I couldn’t have done it without your support.

And to all the contributors to the album, wouldn’t have imagined completing this without all of your help and I appreciate you more than you know.

❤️
