Parlor Sessions is an intimate concert series hosted by Bode Brown and his beautiful wife, Moyo.

Our vision is to continually portray the home as the perfect atmosphere for love and fellowship. We do this by infusing live acoustic performances with storytelling, and a potluck meal, fostering a warm environment where everyone is reminded of their vision, identity, and security in God.

We host these sessions on the last Sunday of every quarter. The last Sunday in March will be our first for 2026—consider this your “save the date!” Official announcements and ticket sales will follow soon.

We are also putting out a call to anyone who would love to open up their home to us. True to our vision, we don’t use public venues—just the homes of real people. All you need is a heart for Jesus and for people, a parlor large enough to accommodate 30–50 guests, a reliable power supply (with backup), and an accessible Lagos location that serves as a middle ground for both Mainlanders and Islanders.

Author: Joseph Medlicott Scriven
Joseph M. Scriven (b. Seapatrick, County Down, Ireland, 1819; d. Bewdley, Rice Lake, ON, Canada, 1886), an Irish immigrant to Canada, wrote this text near Port Hope, Ontario in 1855. Because his life was filled with grief and trials, Scriven often needed the solace of the Lord as described in his famous hymn.
