homemade pizza!!😋

ingredients:

- 4 cups of flour
- 1 1/2 cups of warm water
- 2 tsp of yeast
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- pinch of salt (more or less depending on dough taste preference)
- 16oz of tomato sauce
- 1/2 to 1 tsp EACH of oregano, basil, and marjoram (again, this depends on taste preference)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 1/2 large yellow onion (sliced)
- 1/2 large green bell pepper (sliced)
- 16oz mozzarella

recipe:

In a bowl, add your flour. In a separate, smaller bowl, add your warm water and then your yeast, mixing well, and then add that to your bowl of flour. Add your olive oil and salt, then knead the dough until it comes together. Cover your bowl and set the dough in a warm place for about 60-90 minutes (if no warm place is available, stick it in an OFF oven with a medium to large pot of boiling water underneath with the oven door closed). Once the dough is done proofing, preheat your oven to 425 degrees.

In a small to medium pot, heat up your tomato sauce until it just begins to boil (there should be a few occasional bubbles popping) before adding your seasonings, salt, pepper, and garlic. Turn the heat to low and stir for about 30 seconds and set the sauce aside.

Remove the dough from the bowl when it’s done rising, and, after drizzling a splash of olive oil on your baking sheet, place the dough on the sheet and evenly spread it until it reaches the edges of the sheet, forming a crust if desired. (Side note: you can use all of the dough for one big pizza or split the dough into 2, 3, or 4 segments to make smaller pizzas.) Now, add the sauce over the top, and then add your toppings and cheese, tearing before adding. Cook in the oven for about 20-25 minutes. (This is what time works for my oven, but in others, I’ve had to go closer to 30.) Once the cheese is melted and the crust has a nice crisp outside, remove it from the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Finally, slice your pizza and serve!
