Where we at with it - a small taste of a beautiful day and night for our michelinman dinner party back in September. 13 courses by @nickofnorth served at a “restaurant” (that was built and subsequently removed within 12 hours) to 25 guests on the Fortune Wharf with 13 tracks from @blvcksvm’s michelinman album providing the audio focal point. Lots more to see and more of these to come. This past weekend we hosted a dinner party on a fishing wharf in eastern PEI. Not just any dinner party either - @blvcksvm flew into lil ol’ PEI to present this dinner as a listening party tied directly to his debut album, michelinman. 13 courses not only paired but inspired by the 13 songs on the album executed with precision by our @nickofnorth and served with intention by our FOH team. A restaurant built. Listening to the tracks as each course was presented, conversations about the connection between fine dining, rap music and the community within both. Food, again, not only foraged and farmed from the area around us but fished by Nick himself from the water found a few feet away. Here’s course 1 of many of the memories from that evening. On Saturday I partnered with @thisissomewheres for a sold-out, one-night-only dinner party on a Prince Edward Island fishing wharf and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever been a part of

Thank you to @nickofnorth for taking a chance w this concept, spending time with the album, and using it to create one of the best, most thoughtful menus I’ve ever experienced AND foraging/fishing for damn near all the ingredients that went into it (still in awe of the pine needle custard tart you’re a sick sick sicko for that)

Thank you to the Mayor @alexgdouglas for coordinating everything, pulling strings, and making me and Huncho feel at home

Thank you to the entire front and back of house staff for making everything work so smoothly, I hope we get to work together again in the future 🤞🏾

Thank you to my shooter @lahunchoball for pulling up and capturing the night (including all these pics), appreciate you always being ready to make plays w me 🫂

Thank you to @hotelonpownal for putting us up for the freeski and having such good sausage links

A little bit about this work:

From a young age, I’ve been developing a way of working. I coined it “immediate art”. I’m not sure if I agree with that exact name at the moment, but let’s call it a “working title”. Essentially, it means creating work with no premeditated thought or exact planning; the process is meditative. Put the brush or pen to the paper, trust your feelings, work very quickly, and don’t edit yourself. This particular painting was inspired by East Coast scenery (wharves). It took about 5 paintings for it to feel right to me. The work comes from the subconscious, and the mind sometimes corrupts the purity of it.
