I asked this question on BBC World Questions about a month or two ago, and I have further issues that still pose big questions to me. It is so disheartening that the privileges you are entitled to as a citizen of a nation are what someone dangles in front of you as election promises, when these things should be the basics of what we should have.

Growing up in Nigeria and as an African, there is something in the air that gives you hope, but you then grow up to see the opposite reality: how subjugated and suppressed your nation and continent still are, and how the instruments of this subjugation are members of your own nation and continent, weaponised and controlled like string puppets.

The sad thing about all of this is how long it has been happening. Your parents felt this way too, and now you do. by @thisisthobie

GOD WAS IN THIS MUNDANE

5/6. Signed out.

Five years of lectures, deadlines, submissions, group work, presentations, waiting, wondering, and doing the ordinary things that somehow became a story.

Looking back, I can see that God was not only in the big moments. He was in the mundane, too.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD.” — Psalm 37:23

One more milestone. One more reminder that He was there all along. by @thisisthobie
