Water is essential to Texas’ continued growth and success. Across the state, communities experience different conditions—from dry periods and heavy rains to infrastructure improvement needs and increasing demand. As Texas continues to grow, thoughtful long-term planning helps ensure reliable water supplies for residents, businesses, agriculture, and the environment. by @thisistxwater

There’s just something magical about the San Marcos River. I brought my family down for a day of fun on the water, and to learn about the importance of this crystal clear spring from Dr. Robert Mace. Don’t take your water for granted, follow @thisistxwater to learn more about where your water comes from in your local community, and keep an eye out for those mermaids!

Thank you to Dr. Mace and @themeadowscenter for having us, and to the @mermaidsocietysmtx for adding a little magic ✨ taken in San Marcos, Texas by @thisistxwater

It’s great to conserve water at home—but it’s also critical for Texans to learn about our water: how much we use, where it comes from, and some of the challenges. Learn more about the water sources in your county by using the zip code tool at the link in our bio. by @thisistxwater

WaterWork is back, and we're excited to welcome @thisistxwater as the Presenting Sponsor.

So, what is This Is Texas Water? We asked them to share three things they want Texans to know about the campaign.

We're grateful to This Is Texas Water for helping make this experience possible and for sharing our belief that creativity can foster a deeper appreciation for the resources that sustain our communities.

Join us September 25–26 to experience Lady Bird Lake in a whole new way.

This project is supported in part by an Elevate Grant from the City of Austin's Arts, Culture, Music & Entertainment Department. taken in Seaholm Intake Building by @thisistxwater

Desalination (or desal) plants process seawater and brackish water—mixed freshwater and saltwater—into clean, drinkable water. Most commonly, they use reverse osmosis, which forces salty water through semi-permeable membranes at high pressure, trapping and filtering out salts and impurities. by @thisistxwater
