Happy Father’s Day to my lifelong mentor, coach, and friend!

My Father escape Vietnam 🇻🇳 during the war. Was captured by the government during his first attempt spending time in jail then took the second attempt with my mom on a boat making his way to the United State to hopes for a better life. Arriving to the United States 🇺🇸 he didn’t speak English, working with other Vietnamese immigrants trying to navigate through a new culture. He worked multiple jobs to provide more for his family while getting an education. What’s impressive is he graduated with an electrical engineering degree in 3 years!

He moved us out of the government projects into a home 🏡 and continued to find more opportunities for our family investing in real estate, running a laundromat, and running a grocery store knowing nothing about business, with no mentors, and learning through trial and error. Can you imagine how impactful it would have been if he had a mentor guiding him through everything?!?

Growing up I was never the easiest kid for my parents to raise. Getting into trouble, hanging out with the wrong crowd of friends, consistently getting into trouble at school, and rebelling toward my parents. Can you imagine trying to do the best for your family, building businesses, working a full-time job as an engineer, and having a troubled kid and just waiting for the next phone call from school, from your wife, and whoever else to see what other trouble your son has gotten himself into?!

Throughout my life my dad was always supportive of any decisions I made always telling me “Just go for it because you will never know unless you try” and “You have nothing to lose, just go for it”. He tried everything he can to guide me in the right direction with what he had and what he knew.

Today, we are more friends than anything. My Father is my inspiration. Being first generation born American because of my Father, I feel it is my duty to build off the foundation his provided for us. Thanks for everything you did for me and our family! I will always be in debt for the sacrifices, hard work, and mentorship. I appreciate what you’ve done more than you can Imagine! When we are kids our imaginations to become what we want when we grow up from astronauts to doctors or police officers. When I was young I use to stand in front of the bulky big screen tv and wanted to be like Hercules. Yes when I was a kid one of my dreams was to be a actor. Never to late to do what you’ve always wanted to do. Maybe one day huh 🤔?!?..

History: Memorial Day is a day to honor and mourn military personal who served and scarified their lives in the line of duty. It was an honor to serve in the United States Marine Corps for almost 10 years and being able to serve besides so many great men and women. Today I would like to honor two courageous and committed Marines who scarified their lives to protect our country, Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Raible, the commander of VMA-211 and Sergeant Bradley Atwell, Aircraft Mechanic.

It was on September 14, 2012 when 15 Taliban fighters raided Camp Bastion in Afghanistan’s Helmand province wearing camouflage attacking with RPGs, Assault Rifles, and other explosives. The Marines and other military personal continued with a 4-hour firefight and returning fire with the support of with HMLA-469 Light Attack Helicopter in the air returning fire. The Taliban targeted the Hazmat center, fuel, aircrafts, and other critical locations on base. In this fire fight is where both these men put their lives on the line to protect the men and women their fighting beside them. I would like to honor their families who lost their dad, brother, and husband! I am grateful to live in the best country in the world!

Memorial day! Each military member took an oath to commit and sacrifice their lives for something much greater than themselves, the oath goes something like this .
“...I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;...”
.
Memorial day is a day to remember the fallen Military members that dedicated and sacrificed their life to protect and defend our nation.

“Leading by example”: is one of the best forms of “encouragement”. Showing courage to do extraordinary things starts to encourage others to reveal their gifted talents, eliminating limited beliefs. .
