The size of this gigantic potato represents the scale of Rose's extra-huge score on the best move of this game.

I was doing well, leading by a good 80 points...when Rose managed to play HUzZAHE(D). With the Z on a double-letter square. And covering a triple-word score. And using all her tiles. That's 124 points. (I am grateful that it was the D that was already on the board. If it had been, say, the 'A', she would have had a double-triple. And that move would have been worth 328 points. (33x3x3)+25. And if we'd been playing standard rules...353 points.

Today's weirdly specific dream fragment: I'm driving, and @skaughtunawares is in the back seat. I'm drumming along with the music playing, and then he says to me, "no, you shouldn't add that accent on the and of two. That works only on the and of FOUR."

Rose's Scrabble winning streak continues... One of those curious games where my in-game perception was a bit off from reality. I thought for sure I was getting completely destroyed...but in fact, it was a pretty close game. That perception came from a run of crappy draws and low-point plays, while Rose seemingly kept effortless playing key tiles.

Anyway, fairly low-key game in terms of fireworks plays:
