THANK YOU to the many hands and hearts it took to pull off the beautiful 4th Annual Harvest Dinner last weekend. Here are some words from Mark:

“We had a huge crowd, perfect weather, music and food that softened the hardest of hearts, and an event that succeeded in its ambition to offer a celebration in a time that needs hope. We did it and we did it well, and I’m so grateful.

We offered to ourselves and this community a party, a celebration, and a reminder of what’s good in the world and in human interactions.

Thank you for throwing yourselves into the effort and making it happen. This small but powerful community of resistance will continue.

We will keep our hearts open to kindness, acceptance, and hope, and we will do our best to provide an antidote to the horrors we fear, and the horrors we see the world faced with. We can do better, and last night was a beautiful example of how. We did it, and we created the space for goodness. Thank you!”

Oberyn recently sat down with Mark Waltermire of @thistlewhistlefarm at the @arbolfarmersmarket and in just a few words, Mark reminded us what farming is really about: growing what you love, and loving what you grow.

This year marks 20 years of Thistle Whistle Farm feeding the Western Slope and beyond. The farm grows many of the vegetables you expect, but focuses on distinctive varieties with exceptional flavor, high nutrition, and deep cultural connections. Whether it’s an heirloom tomato or a traditional herb, everything grown at Thistle Whistle is rooted in care, connection, and a deep joy for growing.

Here’s to 20 years of farming with purpose. Happy anniversary, Mark! 💚 taken in Arbol Farmers Market by @thistlewhistlefarm

A table set by the land, a menu shaped by the season. 🌿
ㅤ
Our dinner at Thistle Whistle Farm was a reminder of what makes a meal meaningful: ingredients grown with care, prepared simply, and brought together around a shared table.
ㅤ
From just-picked peppers and fire-kissed vegetables to fresh greens and house-made bread, every dish started with the ingredients themselves. We’re grateful to work alongside the local farms and growers who make this kind of cooking possible, and to bring our team beyond the kitchen to celebrate the people and places behind the food.
ㅤ
Thank you to Thistle Whistle Farm for welcoming us and sharing a little of what makes this valley so special. This is what cooking with intention, seasonality, and a sense of place means to us. ❤️ taken in two twelve cb by @thistlewhistlefarm

What happens when community-owned solar and agriculture grow together?

Mirasol Agrivoltaic is demonstrating a different approach to renewable energy development, one that begins with the land, strengthens agriculture, and creates benefits meant to be shared.

In this PSEF member highlight, discover how Mirasol is transforming five acres at Thistle Whistle Farm into a model for what's possible when solar and agriculture share the same land. By combining agrivoltaics with community ownership, the project is working to generate renewable energy while supporting local growers and strengthening the surrounding community.

Still thinking about yesterday on the farm.

The fifth annual Thistle Whistle Farm Dinner + Pepper Party brought us together to celebrate another growing season (which wasn’t easy) and the people whose work makes these meals possible.

Thank you to Mark and the Thistle Whistle crew who work tirelessly to grow food with heart, our Chef Anthony Nelson and the Two Twelve team, and everyone who joined us around the table. It’s a privilege to cook at the very place where so much of our inspiration grows. taken in Thistle Whistle Farm by @thistlewhistlefarm

THIS SUNDAY! 🌶️🌞🐐 Join us for the 5th annual farm to table dinner. We will have live music played by Jon Hickam & friends🎶 There will be pepper tastings, ranging from sweet to mind bending hot, that sample some of the 250+ varieties that are grown on the farm. The meal is by donation, as we want the full community to feel invited and included in this special event. For those who are able, this event also serves as a fundraiser for the community clean energy project, Thistle Whistle Community Solar. We hope to see you there!🎉 by @thistlewhistlefarm
