I am excited to finally share my "Hurricane Helene Collage Journal." 🎨 I started this a while back with the goal of creating one collage every day. Although I missed a few days, there were many days I created several collages. My only goal was to have fun, fill up a journal, and try new things! As some of you know, we recently experienced a major weather event in Western North Carolina. We were without electricity, internet, and water for over two weeks. It was the perfect time to escape into art while waiting for things to return to normal. I guess you can say there was a silver lining.

The journal I used is from @uglybooksofficial 📒. I purchased a set of three books, but the dark green pages in this one made it ideal for this collage project rather than sketching. I loved working in this journal, the paper is nice and thick and worked well with many layers of collage. Looking forward to experimenting with collage and drawing in the other two books!

I created this digital collage using the July collective image from @collage.dream. A few years ago I scanned hundreds of vintage papers to use in my digital collages. I combined those with an AI generated model shot and the collective image to create this piece. The title is: King Q

This analog collage is from an amazing class I am taking by @julie.liger.belair called Dream Bubbles, Scrappy Blablahs & More! As you have probably already noticed most of my collage work tends to be more abstract so this really was out of the box for me. I discovered all of the pieces at the bottom of my huge collection of collage fodder and it sort of just came together. This is part 1 of a set that is called Opposites Attract. So much fun!
