Last day of the Matagorda Photo Safari. (I promise)

The day started out tough. Wind gusts of 25mph+ made it difficult to find birds willing to fight it. When we did holding a camera still was challenging

Perseverance paid off though on the last hour of the last day. My photo partner noticed a egret/heron rookery I’ve driven by numerous times and never noticed. The eggs haven’t hatched yet so I will be back. by @thomas_a_britt

Saddened by the passing of my friend , Congressman Sylvester Turner. His service as state representative and mayor was one of devotion to good governance and doing good by working folks. Public employees had a friend no matter the office he held. by @thomas_a_britt

I was out cruising and burning old fuel up when this little guy swam up.

In short order he positioned himself at my bow and was taking advantage of the pressure ridge my boat was pushing.

We did this for a bit and then he was gone. by @thomas_a_britt
