Thank you so much to @ediblesiliconvalley for the feature on our craft. It isn’t everyday that we have the honor of being featured alongside other craftsman and small businesses across the peninsula and south bay area.

We are beyond thankful for the feature! 😊🙏 Special thanks to Edible Silicon Valley and Coline LeConte for this opportunity, we are humbly thankful and inspired to keep creating.

You can find the full article in the most recent edition of Edible Silicon Valley~

Hello! We are Arakawa Pottery, a ceramics business based in the Bay Area that supplies a small batch of clients as well as a bespoke retail space of our creations for customers to visit.

If you are new to our page, we hope you can discover and enjoy the beauty and slowness in the craft of ceramics. We aim to build a legacy of pottery and capture the beauty in our craft and the entirety of its process.

For those local in the Bay Area, we hope you can come visit us at 5588 Sweigert Rd, San Jose, CA 95132. We'd love to see you there (and Toujiro too would like to say hello!)

Through wheelthrowing, we can observe the art of letting go of control, and that the tighter we grip onto the outcome, the less we can actually get to know the process. Many lessons lie within this beautiful craft of pottery.

One of the beautiful things about learning ikebana is discovering the little joys of each season and finding beauty in the way nature changes. 🌻🍂

A lovely in-class ikebana demonstration by Sensei Fusako Hoyrup 🌿 by @thomasarakawa

What a beautiful process to choose flowers and watch the masterful work of Jessica of Grace Hope Flowers @gracehopeflowers assemble a bouquet in our ikebana vases that decorate our store.

Everytime you enter our storefront on the weekends, we hope you’ll notice the beautiful florals that fill the room with aroma and grace. Every art has its process, hopefully you enjoyed watching this one! 💐🌸

🌳 Demonstration in Soho Sensei’s class - Isshu-Ike (Use Only One Kind of Material in the arrangement)

I decided to use the beautiful Manzanita branches that offer variety of expressions and rich red color of branches. Along with this special design vase by Thomas and Kathy Arakawa, it has increased the characteristics and dynamic of Isshu-Ike. 🏺

It was really a fun lesson to design for. 🌳🤎

The beauty and magic of transforming our space from "studio" to "retail" is a weekly routine that always amazes us. How we're able to turn a functional small space into one that people can shop and browse whilst connecting to our ceramics pieces is the same as a circus show being brought to life overnight. We hope you can come by our store sometime to check out our product and ask us any questions about pieces you feel connected to or want to learn more about.

You can check out our collections at our website or in person on weekends for those local in the Bay Area at 5588 Sweigert Rd, San Jose, CA 95132. 🌸

When we think about community and it's impact on our craft and business, it has great meaning to us. Whether it's florals, customer remarks, or the little joys in transforming our studio space, we take notice to all the small details that make our craft ours.

We hope you enjoy this slow vlog about those moments.

If you're ordering online from us, just know that we're double boxing your items, to make sure that the same level of time and care that goes into making your ceramics, we want to put that same care in our packaging.

You can order online from the link in our bio!
