Catalyst Studios “Uncommon” Art Gallery with VCU.Blessed to be able to have turned this idea into reality. Officially an Author!In the spirit of trying, failing, reflecting, and repeating, I’ve now completed a goal of mine - writing a book. To make it even better, my father and I co-authored it. Try, Fail, Reflect, and Repeat.Through trying a bunch of ideas, I was able to find my true passion. Blocking out the fear that comes with trying new things and failing was the key to discovering what I love most.Embracing the fact that failure is part of the process.I reflect on my past ventures like battle rapping, concert hosting, fashion, and more. I did these years ago and shamelessly so. If I had held onto the fear of posting my battle rap events, I wouldn’t know that it wasn’t in my future (I was 4-0 though, so it wasn’t due to a lack of skill, shoutout VSN rap league).The truth is, no one cares about things as much as we think they do.So the question is: Is halting the pursuit of what you love worth the false comfort that comes from staying complacent?Is avoiding a little bit of embarrassment really worth more than your long term success?This is your sign to tryTag someone who’s been sitting on an idea too long. This is your sign to take that risk.One year ago, I took a leap of faith and moved to Texas. I left behind everything I knew and loved - family, friends, comfort - in exchange for things I couldn’t see or touch: growth, opportunity, a new chapter. At the time, those were just words. Now, I’m living the reality those words promised. It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and also one of the hardest. That fear you feel before making a big decision, embrace it. It’s not a sign to stop, it’s a signal. Your body is telling you that you’re stepping into something new, and that discomfort is part of the process. Whether it’s a job, a city, a relationship, or just the next version of you, don’t run from the unknown. The same thing you fear, will be what unlocks the growth. The 3rd Annual Art Gallery has come to a close, and my heart is overflowing with gratitude.This year’s gallery held a special place in our hearts as @ctlystudios celebrated its third year and embraced a new unified name.I am deeply thankful for the unwavering support, love, and sense of community that has shone brightly throughout this journey. This event—and all our achievements—would not have been possible without the incredible support from family, friends, loved ones, and every new face that joined us.Reflecting back on the young man who stepped into VCU four years ago, faced with the daunting task of forging a new identity, this moment feels surreal. The growth, the challenges, the triumphs—it’s been a transformative journey that I’ve been privileged to share with each of you.A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey and the success of Catalyst Studios and “The Gallery.” But rest assured, we are just getting started.
