Portfolio is finally online thomaspokorn.com The internet used to feel personal. Everyone had their own little corner. I missed that. Building my own site was a way to claim some space, to share my work on my terms, and to have fun with it. These days, we rely on big platforms to give us a sliver of room to express ourselves. The “Book Hands” shirts (aka bootleg merch) is my textile celebration that my portfolio’s done. 🙏 @hannajo.rainbow for animation @danieltriendl for drawing — A while back I wrote @danieltriendl About me and in return he drew about me, like one of his French his girls. This is the result and it’s wild how he got the stare, the nose, the mouth, the hands, the whole expression exactly right. When he’s not moonlighting as my personal portrait artist, he’s drawing much cooler things for Adobe, Meta, Airbnb, Monocle, and more. Daniel’s a brilliant illustrator from Austria who lived in New York and moved back right before I moved here—so we’re forever synced by friendship, just not by location. by @thomaspok

Portfolio’s done thomaspokorn.com The “Lord Logo” shirts (aka bootleg merch) is my textile celebration of that 🙏 @hannajo.rainbow for animation @christophe.szpajdel for drawing — Incredible custom lettering by the one and only Christophe Szpajdel. Great get for anyone who wants a band shirt but is too afraid of not being able to rep the band it’s for. A lot of people love the black metal aesthetic—but not everyone knows that many of these iconic logos are hand-drawn by Christophe himself, the master of the style. I got this piece years ago through my man @thomas.neulinger as a gift, who worked with Christophe on some band merch back in the day, when he was still in the bm scene. Christophe is not only wildly talented but also one of the kindest, most motivated people you’ll talk to. He even has a whole book collecting his work called Lord of the Logos—highly recommend buying it, beautifully bound. by @thomaspok

Portfolio’s done thomaspokorn.com The “Tired Logo” shirts (aka bootleg merch) to celebrate that my portfolio’s done thomaspokorn.com 🙏 @hannajo.rainbow for animation — Flipped on one of my favorite logos because I love being on two tired vehicles. I could say it shows my flexibility at work and how I develop steady direction and ideas that stick. But honestly, it’s just a great P. One thing: we both stand up to rough roads. The iconic Pirelli logo’s stretched capital P was supposedly designed on a whim in New York back in 1908, stretching like a roof over the rest of the letters to symbolize the elasticity of rubber. Some say that stretched P honors the founder, Giovan Battista Pirelli, whose signature inspired the shape. That stretched P is chunky but not quirky, and it’s given the logo unbeatable recall. Designers might call it distorted, but I see it for its wonky beauty. by @thomaspok
