We did a great thing! I along with many others are celebrating 6, that's right 6 VIDDY awards! T.S. Productions cast and crew pulled off an amazing online broadcast of the “HBCU Allstar Dream Classic 2024” last August and now we are getting our flowers for the amazing work we put into this production.

To the event organizer Bridging Structural Holes, led by @dkr_ceo I want to say thank you for intrusting us to present this event to the world. We told the story our way! To all my cast members @maineventvoice @thetubbyeffect @freddiebtv and @backstage.khen thank you for your professionalism throughout the whole production process. It was a hot day but y'all stuck in there. To my producers @oh_munroe @tiffdowning and production mgr @nikkicayyay I definitely could not have pulled this off without your contributions. The results, a great show. To the crew, you came together like a band that met on Friday and played the gig on Saturday like true rockstars! Special thanks to Charles Howe for driving up from Nashville, TN and @awestbrookproduction for your leadership in the camera department. You make one heck of a lemonade. To all those who worked day and night with me to see this thing through, I say thank you, thank you, thank you. More big announcements from T.S. Productions coming soon.

I knew this place felt a bit dated.... I was like 5yo when it was dedicated. This lady was almost in tears when she noticed the plaque. However, on second take, that year was not the one she was mourning... Reading is fundamental. Grace should be too. We declared and agreed that God is good. Shout out to CG, "Crazy Grandma". RIP to those you lost. Hope you land that Royal Caribbean gig!

As I stood in front of One World Trade Center on July 2, 2026, I couldn't help but reflect on what its symbolism means for me as a Black American.

I'm smiling in this photo, appreciating the beauty of its architecture. Standing 1,776 feet tall, One World Trade Center intentionally echoes the year of the Declaration of Independence, symbolizing freedom, strength, and unity. But I'm also standing in a country where my history, ancestry, and identity have always had a complicated relationship with the very ideals it celebrates.

To be Black in America has often meant being free-ish. The "ish" is the weight of stolen labor that built this nation, laws that denied opportunity, systems that separated families and communities, and generations forced to fight for rights that were promised but never fully delivered.

So for me, America's 250th🇺🇸 isn't just a celebration—it's a reflection. It's a moment to honor the immeasurable contributions and sacrifices of Black Americans, acknowledge the unfinished promise of "all are created equal," and celebrate the resilience that has continually pushed this country closer to its own ideals.

I can love this country and still demand that it live up to the principles on which it was founded. Those truths can exist together. I hold both of these truths to be self-evident. ✊🏾

Another moment in Harlem with T.Staples ✊🏽

As I roamed the streets running errands on the Sunday of Juneteenth weekend I came across a lovely activation at the ACP Pavillion on 125th & 7th.

Beauty on the Block - Presented by: The Black Beauty Club in partnership with @CashApp and @square.

This free public beauty experience was built for discovery, shopping, services, culture, and community. It hit on all cylinders in that regard. 🧡

It had over 20 💄beauty and wellness brands and 🎤 a stage with different DJs curating the vibes throughout the day. 🥗 You could grab a bite at the food trucks👠 then step into The Club VIP Lounge while you eat and wait for your appointment in the braiding lounge 💇🏾‍♀️ or go shopping and take full advantage of the product discovery experience the many vendors provided. No matter your journey, this event was the perfect backdrop for yet another great summer day in Harlem. ☀️

The Soapbox Presents curated a diverse line up of Juneteenth🟥⬜🟦 events and activities that rejuvenated the mind and the soul. 🔥 It all started Friday, June 19th at Riverbank state with the 🎺The 5th Annual Big Band Jubilee.🎹 Then Saturday, the 20th, “We Outside!” returned to Downtown Brooklyn, Presented by 651 ARTS ➕ The Soapbox Presents. It was an all-day Juneteenth celebration rooted in Black joy, expression, and togetherness.💃🏽

@marija_abney “Providing FREE cultural community first programming is hard. Gathering as a community to celebrate the brilliance of our people is reason enough for us, regardless of where it is.“ ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
And the programming @thesoapboxpresents put together did not miss.🔥 It definitely was a vibrant public gathering where music, movement, storytelling, food, artistry, and community collide.🗽

This recap features a few 🤎 friends & family.🤎

“The Garden” was a movie!!! 🏀 Knicks Vs. Spurs 🏀 Game 5 recap described best by the quote “Knicks fans, this is not a dream. Your long, long wait has ended!” “After 53 years, your Knicks are finally NBA champions once again!” ~ ESPN’s Mike Breen

The New York City atmosphere totally changed during the highly anticipated series-ending matchup. Madison Square Garden was the epicenter of the most energy-filled moment of celebration I have experienced in New York. Bigger than Macy's day parade, bigger than New Years Eve celebrations. A short reel couldn’t totally articulate the point. This post turned into a VLOG and I still have more footage.🎥

Synopsis: A once in a lifetime experience!

Game notes: The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90, led by Jalen Brunson (45 pts), to capture their first title since 1973 with a Game 5 victory. “Whatever you put in front of us, we’re going to find a way,” Brunson said. “Every time. Every time.” 🏀 “An absolute masterpiece with 45 points,” said Breen of Brunson. “He will be the king of New York for the rest of his life.” 🔥🔥🔥

Conclusion: Knicks in 5 was the answer! 🏀 Let's celebrate New York! 🗽

Did you catch any of the New York City watch party action? Should I produce the whole movie? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Waking up to all the thoughts of Game 5 I wrote a little poem as an ode to the moment. Enjoy!

“Always Knicks” have joy in their eyes

Jalen Brunson the MVP even cried

Knicks in 5 then we outside

Ready to celebrate on the NY parade line

94-90 Bing bong Knicks closed the door

Its official, The 53 year drought is no more

Another 4-1 series ends on the road

At home NYC is chanting
Go New York, Go New York, Go!

~ Thomas Staples

My recap is coming soon. Go to 🗽Liberty Bagel and grab that special edition 🟠Orange and 🔵Blue Knicks 🥯bagel to celebrate the moment. 🏆
