Stel je even voor, wie is je vader, wie is je moeder?

Thomas Wenas (2003) is componist, pianist en uitvoerend kunstenaar. Op zijn vijftiende leerde hij zichzelf pianospelen en ontdekte hij de muziek van J. S. Bach, waarna hij al snel zelf begon met componeren. Hij studeerde compositie aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag bij Martijn Padding, Trevor Grahl en Mayke Nas, en studeerde in 2026 af. Zijn muziek is doorgaans ironisch en speels. Ook schrijft Thomas muziek voor theater, waaronder AUTSJ (Het Filiaal Theatermakers) en MEDUSA (Madame Jeanette). by @thomaswenas_

I have graduated! :D

It has been an amazing 4 years at the @koninklijkconservatorium . I've learned so much and met many wonderful people throughout my studies. And a big thank you to my teachers @travisgroel , @maykenas and Martijn Padding. Next up is a new theatre piece, Medusa, with @tgmadamejeanette where I'll be responsible for the music!🤸‍♂️ by @thomaswenas_

Last year I had the great opportunity to write the music for the theatre show AUTSJ. The show has toured already around schools and I’m very excited to announce that next year it will go on a theatre tour! The show will play this weekend at theaterfestival @betovering in The Hague and later during the tour at other places in the Netherlands.

AUTSJ is a performance about coping with stimuli. With little text, full of action, dance, and kung fu.

Creating this show was a great experience and lots of fun. I would like to thank everyone involved for such an amazing time!

✨ We wrapped up our final Amare concerts of the season on a high note last weekend! ✨

Opening with a One Minute Symphony by Thomas Wenas, reflecting on the 1945 bombing of The Hague's Bezuidenhout.

Cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras gave a breathtaking farewell as artist in residence, performing his stunning interpretation of Bartók’s Viola Concerto—reimagined for cello.

Then, the radiant Elizabeth Watts brought Mahler’s 4th Symphony to a joyful close with her luminous soprano, filling the hall with festive brilliance.

All under the inspiring baton of our new Chief Conductor, Jun Märkl. What a finale!
