Airing tonight on PBS’s Independent Lens. Take a tiny bit of time to #Understand the issue. Understand why it matters. Understand things that we (whites) took for granted —like being able to open a bank account, able to get a loan to buy a house in a neighborhood of our choosing…or how about when our fathers or grandfathers came home from WWII and the government helped them re-start their lives, known as the GI Bill— loans, job assistance, etc. were available to them. None of that was available to black men and women. That is the kind of accumulated wealth (doesn’t mean you’re a millionaire — just the kind of stuff that helps you get into middle class) this movie, this #movement captures by @thomdolan1
