1️⃣5️⃣ years this week, as young, fresh-faced kids, we stepped off the altar inside Storkyrkan in the Old Town of Stockholm and took the first few steps of this journey. We had absolutely no idea what the future held. We just had each other’s hands, and all of this possibility beaming at us as those massive, heavy church doors were pushed open.

So we walked out, holding hands. Locked in step.

And we haven’t stopped.

And so, when I think back to those two bright-eyed, bushy-tailed kids setting off together, I have to believe they would be so proud of the people they became, the parents they are, and the ever-devoted partners they remain.

Still pushing, challenging, cheering, laughing, inspiring, winging, wandering, wondering and finding our way as we go.

Because, as long as we are together, there is nothing we can’t do and nowhere we can’t go.

Happy anniversary to my wing woman, the love of my lifetime, and the time of my life. ❤️❤️❤️ by @thompsonharrell

Throughout this time celebrating you 💥 forty years in the making 💥 little did I know back in 2008 how much this beautiful life of yours would connect to mine, elevate it to something so much more, changing it forever.

Because when I truly think about what this milestone represents, it hasn’t been about reaching this number and then celebrating that. For me, it’s been fully understanding, loving, and appreciating how this time was spent, where it was given, how it was given, and to whom it was given. And so, it’s not at all lost on me how truly and epically lucky I am that this life of yours, your time, all that you are, has been spent just like this, as we build this life (and now a family together), accumulating these spectacular memories and experiences that are adding up to what’s called a lifetime. And where real happiness and gratitude are felt is that we found one another to go on this adventure with.

And when I imagine an overlay of what life has felt like with you in it, the strongest imprint by far is your light and your glow. It fills a room. It defines a childhood full of love for Nils and Astrid. And it’s out front, lighting the way forward to where we go next.

There is no one else like you. The Freja effect is real. The way you have inspired and shaped me—with your steadiness and generosity of spirit that lift everything and everyone around you.

It brings me back to where it all started making sense, when you shared a quote you loved and recited to me early on… As Seneca wrote, “Fate leads the willing and drags the unwilling.”

This has always been you. You can’t control everything that happens. But you do control how you move with it, and how you meet it that defines everything. This is the inevitable confidence you’ve always had that makes life feel as though it’s rigged in your favor. Just pure, natural optimism.

So again, time… what greater way, what greater person could there ever possibly be to spend this lifetime with. And the time of my life with. I love you. I adore you. And I love that our babies get to live, learn, and grow up inside your light. I can’t wait to see where fate leads us all next.

Love you, forever. ❤️ by @thompsonharrell

The crazy idea from late nights at the @boweryhotel, that turned into a deck during lockdown, just became “The World’s Best Bourbon.”

For us, it all began how any decent story should: at a bar.

Late nights at the Bowery Hotel, where @johnathan.crocker, @lukeditella and I would half-joke about launching a spirits brand.

At the time, everyone was chasing tequila. (Still are.)
Lucky for us, we weren’t interested in tequila, nor had the celebrity prerequisite that came with it.

Our focus was whiskey. Bourbon, specifically.

Then the pandemic hit – giving us the opening to go from musing about it to actually going for it.

So we placed a bet on ourselves, using the creative capital we’d built after years of shaping brands for others.

Like any good brief, we approached it the same way we always had:
– Challenge why you deserve to exist.
– Find the side door no one’s tried yet.

So we built a deck.

And an incredible, culturally diverse group of investors believed in it: professional athletes, White House honorees, TED Fellows, Fortune 500 CEOs, artists, architects, designers, and founders.

And like that, @thefrankaugust became real.

Three years later, that crazy idea, that turned into a deck during lockdown, just became “The World’s Best Bourbon” – and shortlisted for “Bourbon Producer of the Year.”

As Forbes wrote: “Frank August is hardly a household name, and yet it trumped all other American whiskies with a 98-point score,” beating heritage names like W.L. Weller and Eagle Rare, and now up against Hudson, Sazerac, and Bulleit.

A full-circle moment, thinking back on when I pitched Bulleit with @howardcollinge, @jay_benjamin, and @harryromantorres – never imagining one day to be humbly competing alongside them as a brand.

Johnathan still stays at the @boweryhotel when he’s in town, and the three of us still meet for drinks.

Only now, what’s in our glasses is…

Frank August. 🥃 🖤

**Very proud of this journey with my two incredible co-founders. Thank you so much to everyone who has and continues to support us. And to the International Wine & Spirits Competition. We wouldn’t and couldn’t be here without you. 🙏** by @thompsonharrell

Final day of summer. So ringing in fall, looking back on how we wrung out summer – and Nils and Astrid wrung us out even harder. It was exhausting, sticky, slippy, and sloppy. Gelato melted down by pools and in piazzas, just like our kids. Sanity went missing, teeth went missing. It was restless and sleepless.

We swore we’d never ever doing this again. And that’s exactly why we always will.

It was perfect. 🙏☀️🌊🍦⛱️ by @thompsonharrell

Golden Again in San Francisco. We’re incredibly humbled and proud to share that Frank August was awarded 2× Double Golds, 3× Golds, and named a Best of Class Finalist by one of the industry’s most prestigious competitions—the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Awards, of course, aren’t everything when you’re building a brand—but it’s quite special to be recognized by one of the most respected judging panels in spirits.

To everyone who has supported us along the way—we absolutely share this with you. We most certainly wouldn’t be here without you. 🙏🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥃 by @thompsonharrell

If you’re going to celebrate culture, do it in a cathedral built for it. Such an incredible night at the Guggenheim for the CULT 100. Thank you to @cultured_mag and @sarahgharrelson for creating space and a spotlight for the voices, visions, and creators moving culture forward at every level. No one is doing this like you. 🤌⚡️ taken in Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum by @thompsonharrell

The greatest part about you taking another long lap around the sun is that I get to ride shotgun the entire way. It means I get a front-row seat every year to witness your brilliance and beauty, your ideas and dreams — the way you achieve the impossible, showing Nils and Astrid that anything is possible because they get to learn from all that you are.

And with every year that passes, there’s so much that feels familiar, but there’s always something new. New places and friends. New challenges to be tested by, and new problems to somehow solve. And that’s what I love about our life — that it’s nowhere near perfect, yet it somehow feels that way because of how you interpret the imperfections, with your endless optimism, your outlook, and your inherent positivity that always finds a way to light up our path forward.

And so, while our seatbelts are strapped a little tighter these days — white-knuckling through the bumps and turbulence with our two tiny co-pilots — it’s still the single greatest ride and the only attraction I ever want to do again and again. And lucky for us, starting tomorrow, this beautiful, wild, tumbly, bumbly joyride kicks off its next annual journey. But first, we celebrate tonight!

We can’t wait to see where you’ll take us next.

Shotgun. 😊😍❤️ by @thompsonharrell

New color. New expression. We’re incredibly proud to announce the latest addition to the Frank August portfolio—our first permanent rye.

To represent this expression, we landed on Pantone 5773 U—a muted green where American utility meets quiet elegance. A temperature of green inspired by the original Ford Bronco, the weathered copper of the Statue of Liberty, swatches from the designs of Ray and Charles Eames and Florence Knoll, and the natural tones you find throughout our National Parks.

A color that speaks to permanence—and now, the beginning of our first permanent rye expression. Coming week of April 14. by @thompsonharrell
